Gibson plays another season in the AHL before making the full-time jump to the NHL. No big deal, he's still only 21 years old (turns 22 soon).

A complete season in the AHL is the plan for him.

Ya, Gibson is their future; I don't see them moving him as some rumours speculate.

A year in the A is better than playing second fiddle in the bigs for next year in terms of conditionning.

I don't think Khudobin necessarily means Gibson is going to minors. The elephant in the room was getting rid of Wisniewski's cap hit. I can see Khudobin being shipped out again or simply waived/demoted. It's not a guarantee one way or the other.

not only does it let them play Gibson in the AHL for a year, but it keeps him cheap.

Why rush and trade Gibson. If they didn't get their price, they can wait till a team need him and give the moon.

Also Gibson and Andersen are both RFA in 2016-17, so if Anderson want 6-7+M per, Gibson will be there.

I don't think that Anaheim is going to trade him.

    But who knows?

Exactly. I mean, we're not talking about Boston here.

    Andersen is the Quick.

    Gibson is the Bernier.

Gibson will be in the AHL all season, contingent on the health of Khudobin/Andersen.

My bets are on a trade to a SJS or Edm or Philly team who are in search for the exzact likes of Gibson. Another demotion to the AHL would be hard on his head. He's ready to claim a crease.

So happy my relentless efforts to try and land him last year fell on deaf ears. I want nothing to do with this kid anymore. Just way too many unknown's. I'll stick with Vaselevskiy.

I love this stuff. Some prospects get so much hype out of the gate and when they're not overnight stars their value dips until they actually make it. Great time to buy low, especially when owners are getting overly emotional about it.
