    Default Khudobin, Smith or Ortio

    Hey Dobber community,

Im currently in a situation that I need some expert advice on. I picked up Ortio hoping that he would stay in the big leagues but that didnt happen. I still own him but Im contemplating dropping him for either Khudobin or Smith. Both have started to pick it up slightly recently but they both play on bottom dwellers so wins are rare for both of them.

I am currently sitting in first place with a slightly comfortable 2 game lead. There is 2 different options available to me at this point. In our league, there is a rookie game limit of 50GP for goalies. No team can have more than 3 goalies that have played over 50GP, but if a team has 2 or less goalies that are under 50GP then they would be able to carry up to 4 goalies.

    1) I could pick up one of the two above mentioned guys and hope that they can get the odd win.

    or

    2) I could keep Ortio on my roster and stash him while dropping another skater to open up a roster spot. I could keep him in hopes that either later this year or starting next year he becomes a legit starter. By dropping a roster player and the way our league works I could use my weekly 2 adds to rotate in rookie goalies that are getting starts on back to back nights. Guys like Tokarski, Svedberg, Talbot, Pickard and Raanta would all still qualify as rookies within our set up.

What would you guys suggest to do? Im leaning towards rolling the dice and using my add/drops on backup goalies playing on off nights but I dont wanna risk being overtaken in first place.

What would you do? Rep as always

    Thanks

I'd do #2 and churn backups.

If you want to drop Ortio, I'd only do it for Khudobin. He's less risky in the saves and goals against categories than Smith.

Your #2 option works the best, since Khudobin isn't even a clear #1 in Carolina, you could rotate him into your weekly add group.

I would do the same strategy.
