Anyone have an update on this guy? Is he dealing with a major injury or something?

He got called up a week or two ago, never played though and went back down.

hadn't heard he was hurt again since then, but not sure.

Despite good minor league numbers, the guy has no real NHL value and never will. Which is why a team as desperate for goalies as TB is let him go...

Dont understand. His one cup of coffee with TB, posted 2W and a 1.00 GAA. I just don't get why Tampa gave up on him.

I own him in a deep 16 team league. My goal tending is set up for a couple years still. Should I just out-right drop him? I own Howard/Anderson/Luongo.

Keep him, you won't regret it.

I don't know how much room you have in your minors, but I would reccomend that you hang onto him. It takes goalies a lot longer to be given the opportunity to shine. You need only look at Anderson to see what I'm talking about.

The answer to this question would be easier if we knew who you would pick up instead.

He'll be 27 to start next season. It basically boils down to injury concerns and the fact that he missed his window. Anything's possible but I really don't expect him to ever stick in the NHL.

Assuming the NHL comes back as it used to exist last season, does Desjardins have a chance to be the back-up goaltender in Montreal this year? Would he become the starter if Price was injured for any length of time?

I would think Budaj will remain the backup in Montreal this season. But his contract expires in the summer, and if Desjardins can put together a good AHL season I could definitely see him taking over the role in 2013-14.

I have to go the other way Tony...

Currently at the moment the Canadiens have put them selves 6.3 mill against the cap with PK Subban to sign...

Also if they wish to use Galchenyuk as expected, the need the space for his bonuses...

Altho when the NHL resumes the 70.2 million current allowance is likely to get slashed... it will by a percentage as will all the contracts currently signed... This does not affect PK's yet to be signed contract, only that it will have to fit under the new numbers...

Budaj is signed for 1.15 and is rather poor... I would expect he would be waivered and assigned to Hamilton when he passes...

Cedrick has returned as strong as ever in the AHL and is only 600K... his # is much easier to play with and gives more flexability to the team, not to mention he is also the better goaltender...

If I'm the Habs I dont think twice... use Cedrick and have Budaj as a backup plan in Hamilton... Especially in a shortened season where every win becomes more valueable...

D: Boumeester, Green, Carlson, Del Zotto, Myers, Alzner, M Staal, Pouliot, Gormley, Mueller

G: Varlamov, Mrazek, Niemi, Vasilevski, Ramo, Hellebuyck
