For my fellow "D" brethren, here's the next 3 D-Men you MUST get your mitts on...

The Spidey Sense is tingling big-time with these guys the way it was for Karlsson, Ekman-Larsson, Ristolainen and Gostisbehere back in the day(s).

Nice, I got 2 of 3 (Thanks for pushing Provorov on me this past summer Fung when I had asked for advice on who to pick!)

Do you think Esa Lindell would rank 4th or 5th on that list or is his potential still raw (he did get a call up this year but nothing special to show)?

    Sorry for my prospect ignorance...
I know Provorov is in PHI organisation, but can you tell me where the other two are...
Also, do you think they will play in the NHL next year?

You missed Anthony DeAngelo, who will be better than all of the aforementioned prospects.

I think the only one that would qualify as the next Ghost would be Montour. In the sense that the other two are household prospect names, whereas Montour is under the radar a lot moreso than the other two. No one in my league, and it seems in most leagues had a clue who Ghost was pre-call up....

I'm not refuting any argument regarding the pedigree or potential of any of the prospects, just the definition of qualifying as the next Ghost, there's a good double-entendre here too.

    Z. Werenski is with the Columbus organization. He's playing at U. of Michigan - NCAA I believe...

    B. Montour is with the Anaheim Ducks. He is in the AHL.

    Thanks!!!

Again, I'm not a prospect expert, but would these guys have harder time than Ghost to become fantasy relevant with Murray/Jones/Johnson in CLU and Vatanen/Lindolm/Fowler/Theodore in ANA...?

    I have a question for you Fungchen3:

Where would you place the following D-Men in your list:

    Thomas Chabot (OTT)
    Jeremy Roy (SJS)

I too think Provorov and Werenski will be excellent starting next year... Not familiar with Montour much.

    Cheers,

Zach Werenski: Got drafted a couple of spots after Provorov by Columbus. Offensively gifted American-born defender that has great overall upside. Some say he may be the best offensive D of last year's draft (over Hanifin and Provorov).

Brandon Montour: Drafted by Anaheim in the second round 2 years ago. Has been lighting it up in the AHL in his first full season there. He leads his team in points with 33 (the Gulls are not too good this year) and is tops amongst all rookie defensemen and second amongst all defensemen in points!

All 3 can make the big league as of next year but I think Provorov is the only one that will.

In my opinion, yes it will be harder for these two than Gostibehere - mostly because Ghost is already playing quite well right now.

I suppose the question depends on the time span you are looking at. IMO Z. Werenski will have an easier path than Montour - simply because I believe he is better and has less of a logjam in front of him.

Philly has Provorov, Sanheim & Morin on their depth charts... all three were talked about in September with Ghost being more of an undersized afterthought...

Provorov & Werenski are long gone in my pool... however I've added Montour to my watch list for our next prospect draft. Appreciate the post!

I would not say he is number 1, but I can easily see him as number 3 or 4.

That may or may not be correct, we will see. I do think Tony D has a much more open route to the National than those others do. There has to be an opening to pull a Ghost or Klingberg move, and I dont see how Werenski or Montour arrives in the NHL any time in the next couple of years with all of the young talent blocking the path.

Strongly disagree. DeAngelo is not in Werenski or Provorov's class. He's having just an OK rookie year in the AHL and has been scratched quite a bit recently. Which is normal, but he's not an A level prospect like the aforementioned two. He is also a nutcase like Kassian. Work ethic and desire questioned hard.
