Oshie, Ladd... yes.
Franzen is a decent player though... and you may consider him over Ladd.
It depends on your league categories.

Personally I would keep Franzen and Ladd. Oshie is a really nice player with good upside and youth on his side but he will be in tough to put up big numbers any time soon with the way the Blues spread out the scoring/ice time.
The reality is that Oshie will be a borderline keeper every year so I'd rather keep the guy I think could produce more now.
I'd go with Oshie and Ladd as well. I can't help but think Franzen doesn't have the upside of much more than mid 50s. I feel the other guys have more than that.

...oh boy... this build is gonna be a while...
Really depends what your plans are . Are you close to winning or a little ways away?
If Im trying to win it all Im all over those vets. But 2 yrs down the road you may be kicking yourself you didnt keep Ryan Johansen. Especially in an 18 teamer.
Yeah i shouldve read that a little closer.
Definitely changes it for me.
Thx MD
I like Oshie & Franzen here.
I'd keep Oshie and Stafford. They have the highest potential of these guys and are already established 50 point guys. I believe both can still become 70 point guys. Ladd and Franzen are similar players but they're older (well atleast Franzen) and I don't see any upside left in them so for me the choice between these guys would be easy.

Oshie and Franzen. Not sure why...but I just don't like Ladd in Fantasy Hockey. Reminds me a bit of O. Jokinen...of late...(not Early Florida Days). HE's a marginal/borderline Fantasy Player if ever there was. Oshie on a line with Backes and MacDonald (likely) I think poses the biggest offensive upside. And Franzen...well...if he can stay healthy...He's proven his worth.
My apologies for getting off track on this thread.
Why would you see an issue with Marcus Johansson?
My views are that I would expect pretty good things from him over the next couple of years. He's only 22 years old so young enough to get better. His first 2 seasons show point totals of 27, then 46 on a team that was leaning Defence first under previous coaches. Oates plans to bring in a more offensive system back to Was. so team scoring should go up. He's listed as a center, and I can see him centering one of the top two lines to start the season, assuming that Backstrom's still dealing with an injured neck (or whatever). When Backstrom comes back, he could slide over to the 2nd line wing position as the Caps don't appear to have the depth to replace Semin (yet). I multi position designation would make hm that much more valuable. I could see him getting 55-65 points (80 game pace) this year. Next season would be his 4th (some say magical) and it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect another push upwards. Maybe even 70+ depending on how his situation shakes out. Not huge improvements over last season but certainly doable.
I'd certainly like to hear your arguments against that. I'm always open to other points of view.
PS. I would keep any two of Ladd, Johansson or Stafford.

Case could be made to keep any of these guys over the other, in my opinion.
Franzen might be getting long in the tooth but I feel like he has the best chance at hitting the highest single season point totals of the group, and thus would defiantly take him on as a keeper.
Between the others I could probably change my opinion on who to keep on any given day, as I think they are all very interchangable when just counting equally weighted goals and assists. I think I'd go Oshie because of the fact that he should put up similar totals to the rest of the group, and could quite possibly the most enticing option a couple years down the road as a keeper.
I'd keep Oshie and Stafford here. Simply not a fan of Ladd and Franzen and I think Oshie and Stafford have more upside.
I also like your choices for your D. Keep Schultz and MDZ.
