He's got a lot going for him, but OEL has already proven he's got the goods to play in the NHL, I'd stand pat.
So there's been quite a stir caused by his early success in the AHL. A lot of talk in the keeper forum forecasting anywhere from 25-50 points in his rookie season (pro-rated to 82 games). Maybe this is a bad time for an unbiased opinion, but where would he rank solely for this season compared to players like OEL and Stefan Elliott? I've currently got OEL as my 7th defenseman in a 10 team league that counts H and BS in addition to the "regular" 6 categories, and Schultz is sitting there on the FA list screaming to be added. He's got the potential to put up big numbers, but then again, so does OEL to some extent, with a bit more in the hits department to boot. How much weight do we put on his ridiculous start in the AHL??

I'd take OEL over him in a one-year (probably) but I'd definitely take Schultz over Elliott.
Though if the WW is plentiful, you can always grab Schultz and hope for the home run.
What I was thinking as soon as I read the OP.
OEL - Has upside and the best peripherals of the bunch, and is established
Schultz - Boom/bust, but will have a lot of value if he comes out of the gates hot
Elliott - Not as sexy as his hype has died down a little bit...weak peripherals, but odds are if Schultz is out there on the WW then Elliott probably won't be snagged up right away.
My two cents.
same s above. swap him for elliot.

OEL definitely in a Hits/BkS league.
As good as Schultz could possibly be... Edmonton has enough pylons that they'll send out there short-handed to rack up the BkS. Schultz' best (possible) fantasy value this year will be in Points-Only leagues.
That's kinda what I was thinking too. Schultz is a boom/bust kind of guy whereas OEL is boom/mediocre. Similar upside, higher floor.
