This is an offer I'm going to make, team in sig, this offseason. Curious about what the community thinks. Overpay? Underpay?

Interesting. So I should add more to my offer you think? Daniel and Henrik Sedin for unproven kids is not enough?
I have tons of depth. I actually have to drop 2 in late August, and then I need to clear 4 spots for the draft. So I don't mind adding a good player. Marchand?

I prefer the kids... the fact that playoffs count further sways it for me.
Even if the Sedins do outpoint the young guys next year, it won't be by much and it won't last for long.
That's a great trade! Two consistent players with very little downside risk, for two players with upside but some questionmarks about how much and how soon. These are fun trades to make.

sedins are done being ppg players, let alone 90-100 or whatever it is people are valuing them. only way this would backfire is if the twins are traded, and end up on a contender or a team looking to make the next step. regardless i say go for the young guns, worst case you lose a little production but get much younger, best case the breakout continues and you get two young stars for two vets past their prime. this could be the last season that you can maximize the sedins return, my gut feeling says go for it and don't look back.

I think it's a fair trade. Two young players on the uprise. Nichushkin is still trying to show what he's got and johansen will be showing more of what we saw this year we he flashed some skill. Both are young and te Sedins are past the point of surprising us with what they can do. In the short term the twins will out point the youngsters but not by much.
Where do I vote? I don't see the button.
Yikes, looks like I'm the only who voted for the twins so far! For next year at least, my money is still on the Sedins to outpoint those 2 youngsters. If you project the Sedins to get 70 points each the next 2 years, which I think is realistic, you should stick with them. I don't think Nichushkin gets 70 in any of the next 2 years. Johansen got 63 points in the regular season this year, he can definitely match that total again but can he surpass it?
