I'm still taking Patrick but I probably wouldn't decide that until the draft happens. Hischier is right behind Patrick and it could go either way.

Depends of who winds up where. Whoever goes to Philly should have more value (better linemates and depth) than whoever goes to New Jersey.

I take Nico. Patrick is David Legwand 2.0.. Which is no real slight, but I expect a Sean Couturier progression here.. perhaps being so young and being a bit better offensively, he won't have to face the competition Couturier was ready to face after only a season or two. I think Hischier will be given a scoring line and won't be confused with someone having to play more defensive minutes.

I have a feeling this will be the first of many of these types of "Nico vs Nolan" threads now that the lottery is over. Ugh!
I still perfer Nico but I am not sure if there's a right or wrong answer.

it really depends on the categories. points-only, it's nico no matter which team he goes to. multi-cat is a different story. the thought of Patrick to the devils worried me. they still have absolutely no defence, and Patrick will be expected to carry the franchise. might be too much for a very probably Band-Aid boy. in philly he'll be much more sheltered. won't have as much pressure so he might not try and over-do it.
I dont think the Devils are expecting either kid (no matter who they go with) to carry the franchise. He's probably expected to come in and assist their key players already in place (Hall, Palmeiri, etc).

Prefer the opportunity on whoever Jersey picks but wouldn't surprise me if both start in the NHL next season and then becomes a coin toss as to who does more
Experience is the teacher of all things.
I like Hischier (slightly) better - and Patrick's injury history is worrisome....

Hischier for me too...
I think we're going to see him turn into a Drouin/Seguin type... a truly electric player right out of the gate and Patrick developing into more of a steady Scheifele/Johansen.
To each their own, I guess.
That said, I have to admit, this draft is looking better and better with each passing day. Maybe not top-end wise, but it's going to be real deep.
