It's pretty much a lose-lose for Boudreau. You go with Theo, the crowd will be all over him and he'll most likely let it some bad goals. You go with Varlamov, you're putting in a shaky inexperienced goaltender. I think they will go with Theodore though.

Varlamov is the right choice.
When you're fighting the puck, you're fighting it. Theodore's 2nd goal against was a result of a lack of confidence from the first goal against. His defensemen didn't help out his cause, but the damage those two goals had to Theodore's psyche, combined with the fact he wasn't going to be facing a lot of shots and therefore would be unable to get into much rhythm, was the reason for pulling him.
Varlamov came in and played well and well enough to escape the game with a win. You go with him until he gives you a reason to go back to Theodore.
