So when the Falcons move to their new stadium in 2017, they will be changing their prices at the concession stands. $5 for a beer! Ability for a family of four to eat for under $30! No additional markup on premium food options they bring in from outside vendors (area chefs etc.) That's just crazy (but did they significantly raise ticket prices is another question I suppose that I don't know the answer to).
My dad has season's tickets to the Bills and for two of us to have a couple beers and a couple of hot dogs costs $40-50 USD. As a Canadian this hurts an extra ~25%. But still this is truly remarkable to finally see a team not gouge their patrons at the concession stand. From just a concession stand point of view, completely envious of this. They must of taken a hint from Augusta. Would be nice to see other teams/stadiums move in this direction.
Atlanta...

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Pop and water is $2 a bottle. Popcorn, hotdogs, peanuts, burgers, beer, pop, water, and something else are all under $5.

I just wonder what went into this decision. I keep hearing that while the interest is crazy good for the NFL, they are concerned about ticket sales. Staying at home and watching all the games on our HD TVs wins out over spending an entire day going to one game with the accompanying cost. While this is great news for the fans, I suspect it is merely a move to make ticket sales stronger. But hey $5 a beer at a pro event?? That's great.

Arthur Blank has a lot of money.
And Coca-Cola probably negotiated close to exclusive rights for some services (I'm guessing).
I wouldn't doubt that part of it was a requirement to charge less.
Coca-Cola headquarters is here in Atlanta - so if one place has the beverage range to slash prices, this is it.
Soda & water costs a few pennies anyways... so even at $2, it's still an enormous profit.
Random Pengwin fact:
I've designed portions of both the new Falcons stadium and Arthur Blank's house.
In Canada McDs does a $1 any size soft drink promotion. At a Large, they still make profit when taking into account employee wages and overhead. The only thing that broke out even was Iced Tea. The syrup containers for Iced Tea were double the price of pop for some reason, prolly the cost of tea (Nestea I’m pretty sure is made with real tea could be wrong tho).

Can you get Coca-Cola at Falcons games? Thought Pepsi had a deal with the NFL and was sole supplier at concession stands around the NFL. I know that in other arenas, Coke and Pepsi do have agreements in place to allow their brand availability in specific boxes but I thought that Pepsi had exclusive rights to all NFL stadiums?
Oh this is cool:
McKay says soda area won't be behind the concession stands. Instead, soda will be self-serve refillable and away from stands for ease of use

It was a great idea until you realize beer won't be free refills....for shame
