What kind of projection do you guys see for Ceci?
Any chance he sticks this season?
When he'll stick, do you think he will be partnered right away with Karlsson on the PP?
Does he have the ability to reach 50 pts in a season? 60?
Thanks
No chance he sticks this season in my opinion, not with the signing of Corvo. Before that signing, I had him getting 9 games in.
I don't know if he will be partnered with Karlsson on the power play, they both play the right side so PP is the only option if they are going to be paired together as far as I can tell.
50 points? I think that is his absolute max, yes. No telling if he ever gets there. He is always gonna be behind Karlsson for as long as they are on the same team, so that will limit his minutes and chances, unless they do get paired together on the PP.
Buddy Robinson looks like a diamond. Huge forward who can skate.
I just looked him up on Hockey's Future.
6'5" 235lbs
Yeah, thats pretty big!
Dorion said Buddy Robinson was the guy that made them have no problems putting Noesen in the deal for Bobby Ryan. Robinson and Lazar actually.
Unreal how many times Murray and Co. can get something out of nothing.

Freddy Claeasson earns hardest working Senator at development camp. Congrats Freddy!
It's so funny - it is getting to a point where the safe money bet is to wager that every single draft pick, every single college free agent signing and any undrafted signee will see NHL action at some point in their careers.
Amazing GM and scouting staff. Best in the league.
Not good Sens fans! Owner Eugene Melnyk had a presser today and these are some of the things he said:
"I can't spend another 5-6 Million dollars on a player. The revenues aren't there. The team will not be viable."
"On the one hand you have fans screaming, why aren't you spending this? Well guess what? We don't have the money for it."
"I'm not asking for a handout. I'm asking just for a shot. Give me a shot to make money so I can afford to do this."
Melnyk was asked if the the hockey team makes a profit. "Substantial losses."
"There's only 30 teams. People are after these properties. But they're not after losing properties."
"I love the hockey business. I love the city. We want to bring a Stanley Cup here. Hopefully it's something I can do fairly soon."
Melnyk was asked why he stays in the hockey business. Joked "I have no other place to put up a painting."
"We have the youngest team in the NHL. We try to be competitive that way. Everybody likes an underdog & that's what we're going to be"
"We're trying to compensate lack of capital by changing the way we conduct our hockey operations. And that is develop young players."
Melnyk was adamant he won't sell the team or leave Ottawa. "Leave where? Here? No. I just won't spend any more money."
"We want to do things within the stadium itself. We've got too many suites as an example. We'd like to make improvements."
My melodramatic thoughts: Get ready to be a farm system for the NHL. I will reserve final judgement until I see what happens in two years when the Spezza, Ryan, Methot and Anderson contracts expire at the same time making them UFA's and Zibanejad is an RFA. Two years of loyal following as a full season ticket holder and I will be anxiously awaiting these resignings before I renew my seats in 2015-16.
Being realistic, Ottawa will never be a major NHL revenue market compared with Toronto, Montreal, New York, etc.
Melnyk did save the franchise many years ago, and I don't hold a grudge against him (neither against Alfie who was a dedicated player & role model for 17 years).
The only way we become a big spending again team is
(1) multimedia corporate conglomerate buys the team (any left in Canada?)
(2) extremely philanthropic billionaire buys the team (and stays rich)
(3) NHL TV revenue sharing goes through the roof like in the NFL (where annual tv revenue basically pays the roster salaries)
The discrepancy isn't as big as the NBA or MLB, but will get worse as the salary cap goes up.

RFA Mark Borowiecki just signed a 2 year deal with the Sens.
2013-14 at $550 000 (2 way)
2014-15 $600 000 (1 way)
Interesting that he got a one-way in year 2.
Ugh. I get it, it's his money, but this sucks. Tough to win when you won't spend money like a top team.
Substantial losses? In a Canadian market that doubtless provides sellouts and ample merchandise sales? I though the owners just forced a lockout for the benefit of small market teams. Does this mean the big plan to save the finances of the small teams isn't really working? Shocking.
Can someone enlighten me on how TV revenue is shared in the NHL? All I know is that in the NFL, a small market like Green Bay can field a team every bit as good as New York and Chicago. Why can't hockey share a bit more?

"It’s not a coincidence that the most successful North American sports league also has the most rational approach to revenue sharing. Some 60% of the NFL’s $11 billion revenue pie is shared, which is why tiny Green Bay, Wisconsin can compete with big bad New York or Chicago. The other two Big Three leagues aren’t quite as egalitarian but have improved their models in recent years: MLB teams share nearly a third of local TV revenue, while NBA teams reportedly approach a 50% total revenue share (give or take a few complex calculations).
"The NHL, meanwhile, has been sharing 4.5% of its $3.3 billion revenue (with not much more on the table in current talks.)"
