I would have to go with Heatley. Two main reasons are his contract status and has shown to be reasonably healthy compared to Lecavlier lately.
This is a cap league and I've got some traffic for a player and the possibility is landing either Heatley or Lecavalier. Who do you prefer?
Heatley has a shorter contract and Vinny's is long, but both offer me some good possibilities. I could use the FOWs from Vinny, but I have a ton of centers who don't get many faceoff wins.
So who would you rather own?

Is it cap hit or real salary? If it's real salary it's Heatley by default because Vinny's contract is terrible....10 million for the next 4 years including this one, and another at 8.5 after that. Heatley is at 6 and 5 the next two years, then UFA.
If it's cap hit, it's a lot harder. Neither player has a good cap hit, 7.5 and 7.7 and Vinny's recent injury troubles are a little worrisome. That said, he's stayed pretty close to Heatley's production in 17-18 less games. If he can stay healthy, I think he can still be a 70 point player. But Heatley's always been pretty durable and with the improvements in Minnesota this summer....I don't know it's tough.
I think I'd go with Heatley simply because he's a safe bet to play the full season. And maybe he'll see a spike in his scoring with Parise and Suter in town, not to mention Granlund. I don't think Heatley will go off like he used to, but getting back around 70 points is possible.

In my points only non positional dynasty league.....I had both of these players, and traded Lecavalier (over Heatley) this summer.
If that means anything to you.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
I would vote for Vinny. Heatly doesn't seem motivated anymore and with the new additions I bet his time on the ice will fall. I don see him having a good season at all.

What makes you think Heatley isn't motivated anymore?
Thanks guys. These are all points that I've thought about, but it's still pretty close it seems.

Well I pretty much watched almost every single Wild game last year and he was one of the most motivated ones on the ice. Plus Russo and others said he was one of the best leaders in the locker room and everyone respected him.
Just because his stats have declined doesn't mean he is not motivated. We will probably just have to agree to disagree here.
