I wouldn't worry too much about trading Keith. He'll never have another year like '10. His gaudy stats that year were the result of the awesome depth of that Blackhawk team. Last year is about what you'll get from him moving forward.

Pretty dirty hat trick for Datsyuk. All different style of goals...one a snipe, one a beauty pass play, and one Datsyukian deke.
If you watch the whole video....Malkin's goal ain't bad either.
Any reason to think Franzen doesn't put up the usual numbers next year?
I just acquired him (Filppula/Hemsky - Franzy/PAP). I've long since given up hoping for the next level, but status quo works well in a goal heavy league like mine.
Nyqvist-Dats-Franzy with top PP look about right? I'm hoping he puts up close to 30-30 for the next couple and isn't overtaken by the new blood just yet.
Any insight, expectations greatly appreciated!

This from Babcock will make you feel good - Nyqvist one of the one's who is "ready to go."

Barring anything unforseen, I'd bet on Brunner with Zetts and Filps and Nyqvist with Dats and Franzen.

Can't wait to see all the kids in action, should be fun to watch.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
Holmstrom to retire...
http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index....trom_expe.html
I don't know how many times I heard Mickey Redmond say it, but I don't think the length of all of Homer's goals would be longer than an ice rink. What a great career for a guy who is just plain TOUGH. The beatings he took in front of the net were ridiculous. When people think power play spe******t, Tomas Holmstrom doesn't come to mind but that's exactly what he was.
Not sure if this was in the cards all along but it angers me that we won't get to see him on 24/7....
Yeah, it just dawned on me today that while it'll be fun to have the Wings back, it will be without Lidas and Holma (what we call those two over here) and that just got me sad I'd like to know how many goals those two were in on together and how many goals that were disallowed just because #96 had his ass planted within 15 feet of the crease. There were PLENTY of phantom goalie interferences that I remember
GO WINGS!
So, according to Babcock via St. James, the lines will start out as follows:
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Brunner
Franzen-Filppula-Samuelsson
Cleary-Helm-Bertuzzi
Tootoo-Abdelkader-Nyquist/Miller/Mursak
Tentative defense pairings are:
Kronwall-Ericsson
Quincey-Smith
White-Kindl/CC
Brunner's stock just went even higher. I definitely assumed they would split Datsyuk and Zetterberg to start. Wow.
Ericsson on the top D pairing ...yikes.
Was at the Griffins game today -- talking to a friend that works there.
Smith was the only Griffin called up for now.
Everyone in GR was surprised Nyquist didn't get the call.
Obviously it could change tomorrow, but thought it was interesting.
Oh, and Tatar looks good. Was everywhere out there.
