Do you figure Dickey will continue with his great season or is now a good time to sell high on him? I have an offer of Pedroia for Dickey straight accross. My current 2B is Zobrist, who I can move to an OF or UTIL position. I am also pretty deep at SP.
sell'em right now.
What everyone's saying. Classic sell high, despite me thinking Dickey's for real this year.
Deal is still on the table, I haven't accepted or declined yet. I was able to scoop Neil Walker off the waiver wire yesterday and slotted him into 2B and moved Zobrist to my UTIL. So whats my best option here, keep Walker at 2B while he's hot and keep Dickey, or still make the move and drop Walker. Keep in mind that Pedroia isn't exactly lighting it up offensively so far this season.
Everyone in the Dobber Readers League disregard this thread please.
5 IP, 1 hit and 9 K tonight for Dickey. Price was pulled on the other side.
If it comes down to you having to slot Walker over Pedroia this is definitely a move you need to make.
90IP (2nd), 10W (T-1st), 90K (4th), 2.20 ERA (3rd), 0.94 WHIP (2nd).
He 1 hit the Ray's last night and the only hit was a infield single.
I don't see why this is such a no brainer to you guys. I could see if this was a keeper league it would be a no brainer. Until someone can bring a logical argument as to why I should make this deal, I am leaning to rejecting it.
If you have Zobrist, less of a need. If you didn't, its a trade I'd make regardless, not because I don't believe in Dickey, as I've said he's for real, but not exactly buying the 2.28 ERA. Right now he's winning games because he's not allowing any runs to score, and while I think the Mets offence is kind of underrated, I'm not full on sold yet. If this is true, then Dickey won't have as many W's as he does, which is also a huge factor in his value.
