Default Luca Caputi - Pittsburgh Prospect

Just did my Farm Report on him for tomorrow\'s FPL in the Hockey News.

64 points in his last 31 OHL games.

A skilled winger in Pittsburgh\'s system. There aren\'t many of them...if any. Need I say more?

VAULTS up my prospects list and close to the Top 90.

Damn it, Dobber, just when I had settled on my LWers you come up with this guy...

Those numbers are actually pretty insane. Power forward according to hockeysfuture...

Okay, so please check out the team in the sig. I\'m in rebuild mode, so I don\'t care about winning until about three years and forward. Does Caputi beat out Tambellini, Armstrong or Kobasew in upside? I guess we can throw Burrows in there too, but it\'s different value since I have him for PIMs. Then again, I have Carcillo and some other scrappy guys, so I guess he\'s expendable.

Bottom line, Dobber, is this: Would you drop any of those guys for Caputi long term?
    GO WINGS!

Is there a chance he can make the team next year or you think it\'ll be more along the lines of a couple of games next year and full time in 09-10?
We get one of these - Don't waste it.

He has a shot next year, but the year after is more likely.

I would take Caputi over Kobasew for sure, and over Tamby and over Colby.
Colby is fairly useless outside of Pittsburgh - I\'m dropping him, as he\'ll never get 60 points now and my leagues don\'t count PIMs.

Thanks a lot for the input, Dobber. I dropped Army and picked up Caputi. I guess I still want to see what Tamby can do and Kobasew still seems to be improving and I like how he looks with that young group of forwards in Boston, plus he gets me SH points.

Let\'s see what this kid will do in the AHL. Fantasy owners should go crazy about him instead of Brunnstrom (depending where he signs).

I picked up Filewich last season cause of his winger status.

    Hope Caputi does more.

I agree, he\'s had a phenomenal year, but the AHL is always an interesting step for guys.

Don\'t feel bad - I did too. Clearly, we did not win the lottery with that one. Caputi has much stronger odds though.

Here is to hoping in finding the winger that finally sticks it out with Crosby.

Hey how do you guyz see Caputi vs MacLean on PHO, both upside and time to becoming a full time NHL\'er? I am very weak on LW and had MacLean targeted for this year\'s draft for LW, but now it might change if Caputi has a chance at making it this year or next.

    Thanks!

Caputi might play with Crosby or Malkin while MacLean might play with Mueller, Hanzal or Turris.

Maybe it\'s an advantage for Caputi, but MacLean might crack the Coyotes lineup before Penguins.

IMO (thx to dobber et al) the best darkhorses to have an impact in our fantasy dreams are the future wingers for Pittsburgh, Washington, Phoenix and LAK. They still have some open slots in the Top 6 of their rosters.

Thanks to Dobber\'s diligence he has added Caputi to the potential stud list:

    Pit: Caputi, Taffe?, Stone? IDK...

    Phx: Wheeler, Maclean, Porter...

    Wsh: Fehr, Fleischmann, Bouchard...

LAK: Purcell, Boyle(C), OSullivan(graduated to stud already)...

Wow! I\'d like to get in on the Caputi action - he\'s available in my league (although I won\'t be able to pick him up until the summer).
