Let the 2012-2013 fantasy hockey rankings begin! As you can see my league categories, my league's scoring is a little skew.
Top 10 goalies in my league this year:
Mike Smith= 490
Pekka Rinne= 487
Jonathan Quick=464
King Henrik= 448
Mikka Kiprusoff=430
Cam Ward=411
MAF= 403
Niemi= 400
Anderson= 376
Ryan Miller= 375
Tim Thomas= 374
Who are your top five goalies next year? I want someone who is a workhorse and will get the majority of starts in addition to an elite goalie. Ideally Quick and Rinne for next year.
In no particular order :
Rinne
Quick
Lundqvist
Fleury

Bryzgalov
1. Lundy. New York is a young defensive team and will only get better.
2. Quick. I like Rinne a lot but with the uncertainty around Suter and Radulov staying I think LA has a brighter future next year.
3. Rinne. See above.
4. Fleury. As much as I hate them the pens are a dominant team.
5. Bryz/Miller. Both ended the season much better than they started. I'd wait to see if Bryz can get back into it during the playoffs and pick from there.
12 Team Dynasty H2H, Daily Starts
G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, SOG, Hits
W, GAA, SV%, SV, SO
C: Malkin, Backstrom, Turris, Bozak
LW: Ryan, Parise, Hartnell, Ladd
RW: St. Louis, Voracek, Wheeler, Semin
D: Phaneuf, Boyle, J. Johnson, Suter, Goligoski
G: Lundqvist, Lehtonen, Scrivens, Neuvirth
I can't help but think that Cam Ward will crack the top 5 next year. Carolina has really turned around since Muller took over, and I expect it to continue into next season.

...oh boy... this build is gonna be a while...
1. Quick
2. Lundqvist
3. Fleury
4. Rinne
5. Ward

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
I think Rinne could slide out of the top 5 next year... depends on Suter/Weber.
1. Lundqvist
...
2. Fleury
3. Bryz
4. Miller
5. Quick
The top 4 are obvious and pretty much unanimous. The 5th is the curious one. Personally, I think Mike Smith can still be in that top 5, assuming Dave Tippett is still the coach of the coyotes. His system is money and this season only goes to show that he can take a mediocre goalie like Smith and turn him into a beast in fantasy hockey. I would stick with Mike Smith. I dont trust any goalie wearing a Flyers jersey.

I wanted to bring this thread back alive so I figured I'd bump it.
So...if Luongo moves, does Schneider jump into this discussion?
If Schneider moves, does Luongo?
Eddie Lack isn't gonna be getting the games played Schneider did this year.

Forwards: Kucherov, Barkov, Teravainen, Seguin, Hoffman, Lindholm, Gusev, Horvat, Meier, Perron, Schwartz, Johansen, Pavelski, Buchnevich, Hischier, Granlund, Bracco
Defense: Josi, Dahlin, Letang, Gostisbehere, Ekman-Larsson, Petry, Slavin, Keith, Matheson
Goal: Lehner, Holtby, Varlamov
Farm: Soderstrom, York, Woo, Tracey, Dorofeyev
Count me in the minority but I don't see MAF being a top 5 goalie in your scoring format next season. Putting aside his performance in the past playoffs, he's a goalie who does not offer any elite stats beyond wins. This past season was his career best and he was the 7th best goalie in your league. And I don't see him repeating 41 wins next year.
My top 5 are
Lundy, Rinne, Quick, Thomas/ Rask, Miller

i dunno what your league format is and how many you keep vs draft etc but in 99% of my leagues I'm looking to draft or trade for the talented goalies who had weaker seasons last year...Cam Ward, Carey Price, Jonas Hiller, etc...that's where you ge the most bang for your buck
I had Hiller this year and he was a disappointment the first half. I finally dumped him, and of course, a month later he starts winning. I like your point about Cam Ward. Cam Ward was 7th this past season and finished 1st among goalies the year before. In my format, I feel like he's a top 5.
My opinion: no particular order
Rinne
Lundy
Quick
Ward
Thomas
I'm fine with Quick and Ward as I know they are workhorses. I'm just concerned with Rinne if his defense leaves Nashville. Lundy and Thomas make me nervous since they essentially split starts with their backups (No start= No points). Any advice here?
Depends on the format man.
In all formats, I'd take Lundy, Rinne and Quick in the top 3... these 3 have proven over multiple seasons that they are workhorse goalies who post elite ratios.
If your format is wins only, I'd go with Fleury, otherwise I'd steer clear. Other good goalies in wins-only are Ward and Hiller.
If ratios matter, I'd take Bryz, Miller, and Howard.
I think the good buy-lows next year will be: Hiller (very cheap right now), Ward, Price and to a lesser extent Miller and Bryz.
