Yes. Next year is highly unlikely as Dallas will not rush Campbell into the picture that fast. This year will be junior and if lucky he will be junior/AHL next season. Look for him in 2012/2013.
I know virtually nothing about him, except that he looks like the real deal.
As a hopeful contender, he only has value to me when he makes it in the bigs. Is next year too early to think about Campbell in Dallas?

he is a legit future star, but if you look at other similar prospect goalies like Fleury, S. Mason, and Price, they have struggled at times early in their careers, so I don't see Dallas rushing him. Lehtonen is under contract for three years and I doubt we see Campbell before than (well, maybe in the last year of Lehtonen's contract as a backup).
I know people will say that with Lehtonen's injury history, anything is possible, and I suppose that is true, but I don't see Dallas rushing Campbell. He is only 18 and we don't often see 19 or 20 year old goalies in the NHL.

I also don't know much but I'll point to some history to paint a picture of what to expect.
1) Price, Fleury, Bernier. All high picks with huge expectations. Fleury was drafted in 03 and became a full-timer in 05-06 after 2 years of development. Price 2 years as well. Bernier is 22 and still isn't a full timer.
2) Dallas has no problem keeping guys in the minors for a long time. Their goalies earn their spot. They have a Nashville-like system rotating guys in and shipping them out afterwards. Turek, Fernandez, Turco (although he stayed several years), Climie, and I'm sure there's others too that I can't think of right away. With this in mind I doubt Campbell is rushed.
Minimum 2 years, but I tend to think it'll be closer to Bernier's 4 years of waiting.

bad news about Jack Campbell. They say his potential is to be a starting NHL goaltender, like a more talented Rick DiPietro.

Wow has his stock fallen after his subpar performance in the OHL.
GO WINGS!
