I'm analyzing these matchups in a very similar way. You've got two of these goalies and are decided between the two, whereas I only have Rinne, and my opponent has Elliot - and our stats are almost identical right now.
If you're wondering one over the other, I'd go with Elliot. Your goalies are both playing against playoff teams - Phoenix has scored 3 goals each their last four games. While Chicago hasn't played since Wednesday's big game against Chicago - Toews and Keith are out.
Rinne just played a great game but slumped the previous two.
Elliott's coming off a shutout so I think that speaks volumes in rolling with him again.
Last ten games:
St. Louis = 6-2-4 / Phoenix = 4-2-4
Nashville = 5-4-1 / Chicago = 8-1-1
Stats from Daily Faceoff:
Elliott
"In three career starts against the Coyotes, Elliott has a 2-1-0 record with a 2.36 GAA and .914 SV%."
Rinne
"In four starts against the Blackhawks this season, Rinne has a 3-0-1 record with a 2.48 GAA and .912 SV%."
Good luck with the decision, I hope these stats come in handy. I really hope for my own sake Rinne does better than Elliott
