there's always the "off-chance" heaven forbid, that halak could get hurt, cough- cough(howard). then what? only 4 weeks left of season, and the playoffs, hold on to gold, if i were u.
So another Halak shutout. Seems like he has a firm grip on the starting job. Would it be stupid to dump Elliott yet? I've been holding onto 4 goalies pretty much all season and I've been anxiously awaiting the day that I could drop one.

I don't think that is a great idea with your goaltending - yeah, Elliott is only getting 1 in 4 starts but Rask is proving a little shakey and Miller isn't out of the woods yet. I think I would ride with what you have for now. Elliott has posted very good numbers and will get a start a week for the next month with B2B's
According a blog post I just read that goaliepost tweeted, Hitchcock likes keeping both goalies fresh. So as long as Elliott plays well, I think you'll see him every 2nd or 3rd game.
I'd keep him for now as they are playing very well defensively. Plus you got one or both McDonald and Steen hopefully back in the next 10+ days.

League & Roster Info
I traded Elliott this week for Backstrom/Kronwall (I added Salo), but it was more of a long term move due to our cap setup in the league. I picked up both Elliott & Salo off the wire so they would each count 20 against my cap whereas Backstrom (G) is only 8 and Kronwall 4.
Hitch will definitely keep rotating them to some degree, but from his track record and the golden boy status of Halak, I figured Elliott will steadily lose opps as the season goes on and Hitch prepares for the playoffs with Halak and that Elliott will most likely be available in next year's draft anyway...new owner probably will not keep him at 20 either.
So while I agree with the general consensus, I do believe selling Elliott high before Halak completely takes over might be smart and it may be getting too late as we speak...if you need D or F help and can grab someone good and then pick up a 4th G off the wire it may work out...
