3rd goalie help

So not that the COL handcuff is awesome, unfortunately they are my 1-2.

I currently have Neuvirth and had him through his short run a while back, now he's sitting, and can't always assume when he gets a chance like a good backup that he'll perform.

Options to rotate him out are:

Sanford
Bachman
Emery
Hedberg
Dubnyk
Enroth
C Mason
Markstrom (very short term)

Knowing there are minus points for GA and losses, I need something that when he plays won't hurt and will not only play every 2wks.

I think the lack of responses can be attributed to the fact that there are no really solid options available to you. Basically, any move you make right now is a crap shoot. Neuvirth could very well play as much and as well as any of these guys on this list.

Honestly, I think Hedberg or Dubnyk are your best chances for more starts at the moment but could very well end up hurting you in other categories.

Bachman, Enroth and Markstrom would all be solid contributors to you but the problem is that their teams are in the playoff hunt and will probably be going with their #1 guys as much as possible. Of those 3, Markstrom is the only one who really has a shot at playing his way into the #1 gig but that is a very long shot this year especially with his recent injury.

Honestly man, I would probably stand pat for now, but Neuvirth could be out of luck too with Washington fighting to make the playoffs. Especially if Vokoun picks it up.

Your best bet may be to just sit tight for now and watch closely. As soon as one of the available goalies starts to pull away from the pack, pick him up and hope for the best.

Enroth may be a good option. I believe from now until the end of the season they have something like 11 b2b scenarios (someone fact check me on that).

Honestly other than that none of the others are any better than Neuvirth in my eyes.

Thanks 4T2, I hear you ... that's exactly why I had to ask the question, because it was racking my brain there not being any obvious answer.

In the meantime while I watch the backups duel it out, I dropped Neuvirth for OEL to get more points from offense rather than loosing them in net. Just in time too, I noticed Vokoun got yanked and Neuvirth jumped in to let 1 goal on 8 shots ... in our pool that racked up 0.40pts. So he went out with a bang for me.

I believe it's 8, but that's a solid # for me, knowing he might squeeze into a few more. That's the name I had most faith in personally as well, but will see what happens in the short term before jumping.
