Is it time for Crosby?

Artic...I don't think you would even get Getzlaf offered for Crosby if it weren't for his horrific season thus far as well.

Getzlaf is a premier player and if he were offerred to me for Crosby, I'd likely accept.

I am thinking hard for sure. It's a keep 5 league, and I am in first by quite a bit (23 pts) - I think i can hold it down without Crosby. Of course, he'd be one of my keepers if I don't trade him. If I accept the trade, it will be Malkin, Getzlaf, Perry/Letang, Lundy, Rinne. Even with those keepers, it's not as nice with Crosby missing, but it's still a fantastic starting point. Basically all players would go in the first two rounds at worst.

Gonna sit on this one a little longer... just like gambling!

Yeah, you're team is gross even without Crosby. I doubt there`s another team with 5 keepers like that.

I'm just looking for some quick advice on a Crosby offer I have on the table.

My Crosby, Datsyuk, and a 1st, 4th, and 7th round draft picks

For his Getzlaf and Perry

I almost laughed at the ridiculousness of the offer, mainly with the picks. But what would make this deal even, or what do I do to counter.

Are you still in the hunt for the cup this year or in rebuild mode?

If it is rebuild mode...

Since your league is a "Keep 6" the draft picks actually have some good value.
Your team also looks pretty deep...you won't be able to keep all the value.

Maybe counter with a 2 and a 5 and then trade Hossa & Iginla to recoup the picks you will be losing.

Another thought...if your league permits "conditional" draft picks...make it a #1 if Crosby doesn't play at least one more game this year or isn't cleared for 1st game next year.

I'm definitely in the hunt this year again, and would love to make it back to back championships. I just have a hard time giving up Crosby (because I like him and he could be back next year), and Datsyuk (because he is having a great year). And then giving up all those picks just hurts. Especially if Crosby comes back and makes me look like a fool for trading him and all the picks.

Is the deal on the table as ridiculous as I think it is, or is it a decent value for trading Crosby?

Sly - I just don't think it is a good deal if you are going for it this year.
Your league doesn't require positions so Perry on the wing isn't an asset.
Your league doesn't use PIM's, or Hits...basically the only thing Perry & Getz have provided in the 1st half.
At this point Datsyuk is the best player in the deal and commands more respect.
Just seems that you could offer Datsyuk, the #1, #4, #7 (without including Crosby) and it would be a fair offer for the duo of Perry & Getzlaf after their horrific start to the year.
Essentially, it looks like Crosby is a "throw-in" on the deal.
Granted I think "the kid" is burned toast right now but he had to have some value.
Keep the #1 off the table if you are including Crosby...you'll need it to grab one of Granlund, Yakupov, Kuznetzov, or Tarasenko so you can start over.
