im in 6th in a 10 GM league, but on any gven night i'm in 4th. falling behind in PPG and PIM. hes way last and rebuilding

i'm thinking on sending this but am i nuts? he may just decline it and i might be OK with it. hes been after Marleau and Gabby, and ive been after Lucic, so the others are "extras". i've been shopping Gagne for a bit as well.

Agreed that it doesn't make a lot of sense for the rebuilding guy to take this. On the other hand, I like the Duchene side, so if he bites, I'd take it. You get rid of 2 injury prone guys for 2 up and comers and a beast of LW in Lucic.

Like these guys said, I think the side you own is more valuable if you want to compete this season, and the long term value is actually pretty close, I would stand pat.

I don't see how this trade makes any sense for him as well if he is a rebuilding faze. All he is doing is trading younger players with no injury concerns for older BAB of similar up sides. Gaborik is the best player in the trade but if I'm a rebuilding team I don't want to structure my rebuild on a guy I can't count on being in the line up. Offer it but I highly doubt he accepts or you even get a counter.

all good comments, and all makes sense, but thats why i added in the original offer he sent me, which doesnt shed any light on the fact that he is rebuilding.
He is rebuilding, but it doesnt seem to make sense in his offer (which i havent declined yet either, but likely will with the goalies in there, and no Lucic.)
with those guys in my lineup i could potentailly compete and be youthful at the same time. i guess my original question has been answered, i'm not crazy for offering up what i did...maybe i'm asking for too much in return?
