Possible Miller trade
What do you guys think about Miller for Schneider and Couture? Rebuilding for the long haul,this year not contending.Miller's value is sky high right now with the additions in Buffalo.Is this too little for him?Thanks for the input

I really agree with Shaker on this one. In fact if you think Miller's value is sky high why are you settling for a 2nd line C and a backup goalie? Potential?Originally Posted by Shakedown

I really think you aren't getting enough value in these deals for a stud like Miller. Are you in a hurry to make a move? Because sometime in the season might be a much better time to hold an auction for him.
You need to value Miller a lot higher. With the changes that Buffalo has made, Miller could be a top 5 goalie. You need to treat him as a top 5 goalie and get a lot more in return for him.

Pretty much agree with everyone here. Don't see a reason to be gung ho about dealing Miller right now. You're not getting good value on any of these deals. Buffalo improved up front and on the back end, and even before that Miller was regarded as one of the best goalies in the league. Treat him as such.

If it helps, I traded Ryan Miller and Ville Leino last year around Christmas time for Jaroslav Halak and Evander Kane. At the time Halak's value was fairly high (he started the season strong). Also, Kane was a free keeper in our farm system and Leino wasn't kept at the end of the year. I thought it was a very decent return for a great starting goalie. With Schneider, you'll have to wait a bit until he either gets traded or steals an opportunity from Luongo. You can get better return for a starting goalie!

I traded Miller at the deadline for Thomas+Duchene last season. That was with Thomas playing the best hockey of his career and I was one of the playoff contenders at the time. I think you're selling way short here.
