    This point is crucial Sportsfan.

Before you make any more adjustments to your list, first thing you need to do is answer this question:

Specifically, who is this list intended for?

This is the first question because knowing your intended audience is most important, as you can cater your list to their needs. If you don't know your audience, how are you expected to have a good ranking?

You mentioned a few categories, but (as b0ndon asked) were they used to create this list or only mentioned after prompting?

What type of league? Even if you know the categories, the list could change depending on whether it's a H2H, roto or even category points (that is, different values for different categories).

Even with answering these questions, you may not be able to fine tune your list because it could depend on the depth of league. 10 teams? 12 teams? 20 teams? How many starting slots? Are forward positions split?

For example, in a 20 team league with two starting goalies, more of them would be ranked much higher. In a 10 team league with one goalie slot, you could argue that none of them (perhaps one or two) should be ranked in the top 40.

You can see where I'm going with it. It's a lot to ask but I'm being constructive to better help you. You are asking us to criticize your list, but with little information, you'll get varying opinions that may or may not be helpful or relevant.

All that being said, it's your list, but hopefully at least some of what I and others have said will steer you in the right direction.

My suggestion man is to start from square one.

Establish a setup. How many at each position? Are you going to go with the standard Yahoo setup (I think 2C, 2LW, 2RW, 1UTIL, 4D, 2G)? Or are you going to base this list around your league's setup (whatever that may be).

Then establish categories. Again, standard Yahoo? (G, A, +/-, PPP, PIM, SOG, W, SV%, GAA, SO)? Or are you going with an extended list of categories as well (SHP, HIT,BS, etc.)

THEN you begin compiling a list, weighing each players relative worth given the setup and categories.
Goalies: If I'm pickin em you best be sittin em!

    Ok how's this...

    Two year league

    25 for a point
    10 for a plus 1
    -10 for a minus 1
2 for a shot on goal
    2 for a hit
    3 for a penalty

    Goalies
    -15 for a GA
    2 for a save
    50 for a win
    Extra 50 for a shutout

    Is that good?

Everybody is probably familiar with standard yahoo so just do it like that. It will make it a lot easier.

Based on your stats (and associated weights) given and last years scoring, the top 40 would be as follows:

    1 Alexander Ovechkin
    2 Daniel Sedin
    3 Corey Perry
    4 Dustin Byfuglien
    5 Martin St. Louis
    6 Zdeno Chara
    7 Lubomir Visnovsky
    8 Kristopher Letang
    9 Shea Weber
    10 Jarome Iginla
    11 Steven Stamkos
    12 Bobby Ryan
    13 Keith Yandle
    14 David Backes
    15 Henrik Sedin
    16 Christian Ehrhoff
    17 Henrik Zetterberg
    18 Jeff Carter
    19 Nicklas Lidstrom
    20 Dustin Brown
    21 Ryan Kesler
    22 Claude Giroux
    23 Brent Seabrook
    24 Milan Lucic
    25 Alex Goligoski
    26 Jonathan Toews
    27 Dan Boyle
    28 Patrick Marleau
    29 Daniel Briere
    30 Teemu Selanne
    31 Anze Kopitar
    32 Andrej Meszaros
    33 Rick Nash
    34 Patrick Sharp
    35 Ryan Getzlaf
    36 Drew Doughty
    37 Brent Burns
    38 Joe Pavelski
    39 Tuomo Ruutu
    40 Eric Staal

Now obviously this doesn't include injured players that should be there (Malkin, Crosby, to name a few) or goalies, but gives you an idea of what players are valuable with those parameters. Example: Dustin Brown at 20th. Thats cause of your peripheral stats, such as hits, PIMs, SOG and +/-. There is a lot to it when you start counting those.

If you want I can e-mail you the excel sheet with my "fantasy calculator" that generated this.
