Hiller IS starting tonight!!

Hiller is now 90% confirmed on fantasyhockey911.com. This news is crazy to me; my brother had vertigo a few years back and he was literally MIA for a good 2-3 months, and then felt the effects of it for almost a year after. I guess every situation is different.

Here is a note from the Tennessean:

"Hiller update: Anaheim goaltender Jonas Hiller is expected to start tonight against the Predators.

The Ducks activated Hiller after the goalie missed 15 games because of vertigo symptoms. Hiller served as the backup to Ray Emery on Wednesday.

Hiller is 26-16-3 this season with a 2.50 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 48 games."

Thats good news for Hiller. I also suffered from Vertigo a few years ago and its one of the worst expierences of my life. I was lucky enough that it lasted only for about a month and I didn't have any immediate effects; although I get the sensation once every 5 or 6 months for a few seconds at a time. It hits everyone differently but from what I read it never fully leaves even if someone can't feel the effects its because its so mild and the mind compensates.

Well I am guessing that he is in pretty good shape if they are risking starting him tonight. Emery looks tough enough to take on a B2B. Hope he has a good one - in one of my leagues, my team started to slide the moment he was afflicted with this - good to have him back for the playoffs.

I only have six goalie games left this year and im struggling now with this news on whether to start Rinne. Damned if I do damned if I dont.

we got games vs. colorado, columbus, st.louis, atlanta detroit coming up... I would use Rinne in those games rather than vs. the Ducks, Stars, and Canucks. Just in case we are going to get slaughtered.... You never know

Thanks for the advice. I wish I didnt blast through all my games early on because I also have to share those six games with lundqvist. I am start king henry tonight for sure though so only 5 games left after I sit Rinne

With only 6 games left and Lundie, Rinne and Neuvirth in the saddle, I am sure you are going to find better matchups than Rinne against the Ducks over the next 2 weeks. Bench him and if hangs a shutout on the Ducks - blame me.

so with 6 games left, I would start them something like

lundqvist vs. ottawa today
neuvirth vs. columbus march 31st
rinne @ colorado march 31st
neuvirth vs. florida april 6th
rinne vs. columbus april 8th
neuvirth @ florida april 9

but, who knows if teams start their goalies these days, but this is what I like the best for match ups for your goalies

So the last game you would start lundqvist is tonight? I think his is the best out of the three and makes more sense to roll with the guy with 10 shutouts as much as possible. You wouldnt play him vs NJ ATL or NYI instead of nuevy?

personally I like the matchups the way I showed, because of the teams they play...

now sometimes, the backup may start instead of neuvy or rinne or even lundqvist, so in those cases I would definitely start lundqvist vs. one of those teams. However, you kinda have to check/know if a goalie starts before you can make that judgement IMO

Dutch, you are the man! I benched Hiller but started Rinne. Well, at least I got the win.
