....and just think.....historically, the Wings most injury prone players are Zetterberg, Franzen and Kronwall. If they go down too....bring on Calle Jarnkrok!!

Ken Holland says he hopes Howard is good to gomon Tuesday.

So do I, but that doesn't mean he will be! Clever phrasing by Kenny.
My bet is that he backs up on Tuesday then plays the next game.

So Howard is a no go for tonight but does anyone know if he is backing up Mac D? I am not playing Mac D as I have Lou and Neuvy going so I was going to drop him if Howard will be back for their next game.

Never mind answered my own post. Howard said he's good to go Thursday.

    Check this out:

Thomas McCollum broke his finger during Detroit's Tuesday morning skate.

McCollum is only in the NHL because both Jimmy Howard and Chris Osgood were already hurt. However, now it looks like even the guys Detroit calls up from the AHL are falling victim to the injury bug. We'll keep you posted.

I don't know about Nabokov in a backup role. He likes the rhythm that comes with being a workhorse. Clearly Howard is the man so we'll see how this all plays out.

Then again a rival team could snag him and all this can be a moot point.

I'm not so sure Howard is clearly the man in Detroit if they get Nabokov. Howard has been really inconsistent this year and not even close to being as great as he was last year. I'd call it a sophmore slump if Howard weren't so old (26 years) already. Nabokov could definately challenge Howard for the starter job in Detroit.

Let's remember Howard is UFA on July 1st this year so it's not like he guaranteed to be the man in Detroit and with his play this year he hasn't done any favors to himself. The goalie situation is wide open in Detroit if they get Nabokov.

At the current going price I'm skeptical he even makes to Detroit. The price is too good to pass up and there are a few more teams that will steal him. I'm almost guarenteed he ends up elsewhere. I'll eat a boot if not.
