Elliott. NYI are one of the worst teams in the league and DiPietro just can't stay healthy. Leclaire is injury prone so Elliott should get most of the starts for a team that is better than NYI.

Ofcourse Ottawa are not much better with Spezza out

NYI will also get a boost from the return of Okposo

If you want to be safe go Elliott but both will be matchup goalies for the most part.

Whatabout between Elliot, DiPietro, Chris Mason, and Steve Mason. Who would you rather have for the rest of the season?

I'll still take Elliot here, he'll get most of the starts from here on out and I think Ottawa has a better chance of winning games than Columbus does.

    Even with Spezza out?

There are not that great of options here. I might just gamble on Steve Mason here. Boom or Bust. Team and he just need to click.

Hate to break it to you but Spezza wasn't doing that much in. Mason has been terrible and at least Elliott has been a decent option so far. None of those choices are good but Elliott has no competition while Garon is right on Mason's heels.

Keep in mind spezza picked it up 2nd half last year. And while Mason on the surface has been horrible, when u watch him its more like inconsistant. Hes shown some nice flashes. And the BJs want him to be their #1. They keep giving him chances. All it takes is a click. Both are decent matchup goalies for now though.

Lets see right now Ottawa has 36 pts (2 more games played) and Columbus has 39. And its funny when people mention the BJs they say theyve played bad.

Still think Ottawa wins more? I have a hard time believing it.

I think they are equal teams, I never said Columbus is bad. Mason has played worse than Elliott so I go with that. If you want to use 2nd half stats from "last year" to make your point, Elliott went on a 10 or 11 game winning streak so there's your logical choice.

You could look at it that way and hope Elliot gets hot again(no guarantee though - much different team in front of him) but I also have a real feelin Ottawa will be picking early in the draft next summer.

But we do agree its close. Thus I go with the kid and the team with the better upside/chance to turn it around.

I would go with Steve Mason. CBJ appears to be committed to him and keep trotting him out there. Garon is a useful backup but not starter quality.
