Earlier today I sent a contending owner in our league in need of defensive upgrades an offer of McCabe for Cody Hodgson. He rejected it and responded with this offer

I get Hodgson and Filip Kuba

I planned on shipping Hodgson to hopefully get a young D man like Carlson or Karlsson. Good deal or should I hold on to Gonchar for now?

Yes, but only if you're certain you can land a young D like the two you've listed in the 2nd trade. Ideally, I think you should wait until Gonchar goes on a small run of points again...trust me, it will happen at some point this year. Then his perceived value will jack up a bit and you'll have less trouble getting good young value back in a trade.
