He's on pace for 67 points. How pathetic is that for a player of his caliber? I keep thinking he cannot get any worse, but yet he does get worse!
Malkin has to score at 114 pace to get 100 point this year... When you look a it like that, it ain't so bad. Looking at it like 1 point in the last 5, you begin to get pissed off. Knowing that you have Malkin, and your top competitor has Crosby, and that you counted on Malkin to cancle out Crosby makes you want to break your monitor....

Great dialogue - but think that people are using too small of a sample size to make a decision. I would not be suprised to see a comment that Stamkos shuld no longer be top 3/4 as he only has two point in last 4 games - what is wrong with him... How many points would Malkin have if he played with Martin St Louis (greatly underated player)? Of the 40 points that Stamkos has put up so far, St Louis was in on 72.5% of these points. A player like St Louis and Backstrom make great players even better.
Is Stamkos a great player - absolutley... is he better than Malkin - possibly. Need a much larger sample to really understand how good Stamkos will be, and also would like to see him if/when he no longer has St Louis playing with him...

I was on the "Conversation" board on ESPN during a PIT game this week and there were multiple people saying that Malkin is the better "all around" player between him and Crosby. Just thought I would share this comical statement with everyone.

I think that Malkin's 100+ point seasons are gone...I personally think that he'll do 90ish for his career, which obviously is a very good number....
I think he's more in the category of a Getzlaf.... Definately not in the same breath of Crosby or Ovechkin or Stamkos.
It burned me up last night...
Crosby! Hat Trick!
Malkin! Nothing!
He has no one to play with, but he had no one to play with either when he was doing 100 points plus.

All of you Malkin doubters are hilarious.
No one can deny that the skill IS there. You've seen it.
So why isn't he performing? Is it injury? Is it mental?
Whatever it is the skill remains and those other things can be fixed.
If Crosby, OV, Stamkos slumps for a while are they "done" too?
So fickle.
I don't care what it is. All I know is that he better finish the year with as many or MORE points than #87.
