I'd say:
Quick
Hiller
Turco
Niemi
Price
Mason
Leighton
Price/Niemi/Turco could all easily switch places. Turco or Niemi could also rise as high as 2nd I think. I wouldn't bank on Price to do the same though.

How would you rank these guys strictly for next season? Many thanks!

Thanks guys. What is the consensus on Niemi? Will he be the starter outright? That matters to me since saves count as a category in my league.

And no, it would take Niemi a little while to stake claim to the #1 spot. However, after last night's Sharks game, you can have a premature glimmer of hope that it happens sooner rather than later.
Niemi is the starter....the 55-60 game starter out of the gate...silly to think otherwise.

Really? I mean, I would love for it to be like that so that I could draft Niemi in good conscience. But you're claiming that from day 1, Niitty is essentially the backup when pretty much everything being reported is that there will be a shared crease.
Inside information or a bold hypothesis?
No inside information...just basing my opinion on what I hear and what I've seen. Has nittymaki ever been a #1 really? or even in a tandem? He's a career backup IMO. Niemi just won a cup...he'll get every chance at the start to be the guy. I'll bet Niemi goes VERY high in a lot of drafts while nittymaki goes near everyones last few rounds.
I ranked him high only cause of the team he's on. Quick has Bernier making him sweat. Hiller's D is terrible.

NYR and dpp, take a look at this: http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/i...o-way-san-jose
--clip clip--
"The honest response is, I don't know," Todd McLellan told ESPN.com on Thursday. "I've told that to media people and they look at me like I'm from Mars. But we are figuring out what we have, how they fit in, how they respond in certain situations against certain opponents and that's going to take some time. The natural thought outside our locker room is alternate for a while and see what happens, but if somebody gets a hot hand, we might run with him for a while. If alternating is the thing we need to do, then we will."
Bottom line: Nothing is decided yet. Both goalies are new to the Sharks, so both will need time to adjust.
-----
If you go with SJ goalie, you need both IMO. Also, there is a risk that McLellan is tight-lipped during the season about which one starts the game. I would steer clear from this tandem unless you get them cheap.
