I use AVG and I haven't noticed anything yet.
I probably should have hit the big X but - every time I load Dobberhockey.com or any link on the page, my anti-virus detects a threat. Anyone else having a similar issue? I use a free AV - "avast!" and it's only happening with this site...

GO WINGS!
Noticed nothing amiss on my end.
Nothing wrong here either.

I use avast as well and have been having problems lately , none directly involving this site but I do believe there are concerns. It appears that maybe it's Avast.

Well, I did some further research and it does look like Avast has a larger history of false positives as I thought, but it doesn't look like this is one of them. However, I just ran a full AV scan and a malware scan and came up clean, so who knows? The warning didn't pop up this past time after an update and a reboot so it was probably just Avast and nothing to be too concerned with. Just want to make sure the site admins were aware ... just in case.
Switch to Apple and forget that there's even such a thing as virus' at all.
12 years on Apple now and I have never had a virus ever...

Well if you're smart with a PC you don't have to worry - 10+ years on a PC with no real problems (a couple of minor viruses that did no real damage). There is more than enough free software to protect you, add that to common sense and you will be fine.

Yeah, I mean I've never had any major problems so when my AV pops up telling me it's blocking a Trojan attack, I get a bit nervous. I would LOVE to switch to a Mac, but they're so damn expensive. I got a laptop and a desktop for less than what one Mac would have cost...
Not too bad - only like 10 posts before this crumbled into Apple vs PC.
Used both but settled on PC in the end because I cannot possibly justify paying extra money for literally nothing in return other than "Ooh it looks pretty!"
PC = Regular food - cheap, gives you the exact same nutritional value, tastes fine.
Apple = Organic food - Pay a premium for a product that gives you warm fuzzy feelings but actually provides you with no real extra value. But boy that extra bevelling sure glints off the sun nicely!
Well as long as you're adding what the computer, the virus software costs plus the cost of having a computer down for however long and you still find yourself ahead then by all means go with the the PC.
I don't find the gap in price to be all that much relative to what you get, but then again I'm almost a life long Mac guy so I'm biased. Mind you anymore the quality of the Mac is is decline. It's still a solid machine, but not what they used to be.
In any case, I used to have no choice because what I did was not possible on a PC. Now I can go either way, but everyone I know who does what I do complains of crashing, bug and viruss on their PC so that doesn't interest me. I have deadlines and can't cross my fingers and hope my computer is working.

exactly...the PC vs MAC argument is the among the most absurd and ridiculous ever initiated...different machines for different jobs, different platforms for different purposes. If you're programming you want a PC, if you're doing graphic design you want a Mac...if high scalability, affordability and speed are my goals for a webserver, I go with Linux, if I want office and corporate infrastructure support, I'll go with Windows...to argue that one intrinsically is better than the other is the equivalent of saying that because milk is good with cookies, its by default good with everything (try it with citrus sometime)
