Default Ward for Kessel and Hodgson

I have this offer on the table. Points only keeper league. I have depth at all positions but Ward will be my top goalie.

I already have Rask, Quick, Backstrom and Price.

I have a feeling for Ward as a buy low candidate.

Your feeling in term of value? Thanks for your help!

Kessel and Hodgson for Ward doesn't sound like a buy low from my perspective. If you were broke in goal it might be a worthwhile overpay but you certainly aren't that with Rask and some very decent other guys.

Totally agree with Shoeless. That isn't a buy-low at all.

It's hard to know for SURE without knowing how many teams are in your league and what the scoring is, but judging from the goalies you already have, I probably wouldn't pay Kessel alone for Ward, let alone Kessel and Hodgson.

It's 2 points for a W and 2 points for SO. We play 2 goalies each week.

Do we have some news regarding Hodgson health?

What on earth are you gonna do with 5 goalies when you can only start 2/week??

    Good question!

I want to trade Quick before Bernier take the control of the net. He scares me a bit with his play-offs performance. And next year I will not be able to keep Backstrom.

So, I will have Rask, Ward and Price for 2011-2012.

    Your other forwards are?

[there's actually no way I would do that all day, especially w/ Rask on your team, but I thought I'd humor shoeless. Which begs the question....Shoeless, you wouldn't scoop up Ward if you had the chance? Really?]

Dunno, man....like I said below, I wouldn't do it. Besides, I'd keep Kessel over Little, and Hodgson won't help ya much next season, but you have enough quality forwards and the room to stash him for a year.

For sure I will keep Kessel over Little. But I'm trying to find a way to keep Little and Kessel. I will reject and try to redraft Little.

    Thanks all for your help!

yeah i see you saying you cant keep backstrom which then changes everything. but still i say no. rask, quick and price should be more than enoguh next yr when you only start 2 goalies. bernier wont be taking too many starts next yr. think more 2 yrs from now. quick lead the team this year they will give him every chance and then some.

as for moving quick he is a good sell high now so yes consider that, but dont move kessel he is just really good lol..

ward is great but it seems like if backstrom is going into the draft others will as well. you can redraft an insurance goalie if need be im sure.

Sorry I missed this post Bomm - if you are baiting me then I bite and the answer is no - absolutely not under any circumstance.

If it's a genuine question then the answer is maybe I would. Once I examine factors such as - the player, fantasy team and fantasy league as the situational factors and the invisible (a la Goldman's symbols and signs) then I decide if a player is worth making a move on. I tend to scale the results against near-future production, trade-ability/trade value and LT potential in that order.

I am an adherent to the Angus school of thought that if it takes you more than 2-3 years to get a team competitive then it's taking too long.
