Andrei Markov..?: Injury Status??

I know Andrei Markov's been practicing and scrimmaging with the team. But, does anyone know when Markov is set to return to action? Next week? Next month? Next game?

I think it will be next week some time with all the chatter about his seeming readiness. However, the official line seems to still be on the new year as Ballsakic suggests.

Ya, I thought I might have heard something about him coming back next week on TSN. But, I didn't know wheather that was true or pure speculation.

Now I've heard Wednesday or Thursday:

"D Andrei Markov, who is arguably Montreal's best player, has been out of the lineup since some tendons in his right leg were severed in the first game of the season in Toronto. The original prognosis was that he would be out until February. But Markov's recovery has gone much quicker than expected. He has been practicing with the team for a week and he expects to see the doctor Monday to get a clearance for contact. It's unlikely that he'll be in the lineup Monday when the Buffalo Sabres are in Montreal but he's hoping to play Wednesday in New Jersey or against Minnesota on Thursday."

Markov is practicing hard for almost a week and will visit the team doctors monday.

I'm pretty sure we will know more on him monday afternoon.
