that would be too good to be true
Any word on whether Filatov will play with the jackets this year?......and if so maybe with Rick Nash?

Yes it would and maybe Brassard could play a whole season and center both of them. At least on the 1st PP...

Sorry, I do not have a link. But, I remember reading about around a month ago that Howson believes that Filatov will be with the Blue Jackets all year and expects him to play a big role.
I think it was from the Dispatch in Columbus.
Hope this helps even without the source.

I think it might even have been Hitchcock that said that Filatov was expected to be a 'big part' of the team next year. It was when he was talking about having Filatov around the dressing room during the playoffs but not playing him. I too couldn't find a source. Side note: How did that work out for you Hitch? Scored one or less goals in three of the games.
Filitov is an offensive goal scoring explosion just waiting to happen.
He is in my top 3 for ROY next year
Columbus has the makings of a very exciting team next year, things will get really interesting in the west with LA, Edm and .... heck all the teams that mised the playoffs are going to be better.
The west will be very tight next year
hitchock is a young player killer, brassard was playing 19 min a game and was columbus's best player and then hitch comes in and he goes down to 12 min a game. that being said if ppl have reports of captain kangeroo saying he likes filatov then thats great news for filatov owners cause the kid has some serious skill!
What are you talking about? Hitchcock has been the coach for Columbus the whole time Brassard has been playing there. His first year he averaged about nine minutes and that was good because he wasn't ready then. This past year he got 14:25 per game and it got more as the season wore on. He's still a rookie.
GO WINGS!
I think it's not just for fun that Hitchcock bring Filatov with the team late in the season and in the playof "just to be around the team" !
That's not completely true. Hitchcock definately limits his young players ice time but Brassard wasn't even on the team when Hitchcock took over the coaching duties a few years ago. Brass wasn't even in the AHL, I think he was still back in Jrs.
Brass started out on the 3rd line and was slowly moving up the lineup and getting more minutes when he got hurt. But Hitchcock eased him and Voracek in and they were both only getting 10-12 minutes a night. I think it will be the same thing with Filatov. Hitch will ease him in slowly until he Filatov gains his trust and than he'll start to see more ice time.

Then do the chart for Brassard 08/09. In his last games before the injury he got 15 minutes per game. His icetime fluctuated from game to game, which is expected since he's a rookie.
GO WINGS!
As a owner also, What do u think he could project in points next season? Cheers!
Could he be worth more then Gagne in philly next season with nash and Brassard there?
no. gagne is an established top pp and top line guy in phili. As long as he stays healthy, he's the more valuable one next year. After that, it's anyone's guess.
If it were me and we were talking about a keeper league, i'd probably dump gagne and go with filatov before the start of the year. He'll probably post modest numbers this year, before breaking out and becoming a star in a couple of seasons.
Gagne for all his injury troubles, will not likely ever be the star that he was originally capable of being. Filatov's upside is higher than gagnes, but gagne is more of a sure thing this year.
After that, it's anyones guess as to who's more valuable.
