Our draft is usually a week after. I was thinking the exact same about demidov. He only has a year left in the KHL... For now

I’m taking celibrini even if I got offer the other 14st rd picks for him. This draft is a joke and Celibrini will be elite. The other players are almost just a waist of roster space

Forwards also tend to go higher than D for whatever reason in our pool. This year will be weird with so many D ranked high

Last time we had a heavy d-man draft (at least what I remember being advertised as a d-man draft), the d-men worked out pretty well vis a vis the forwards:

    1 Rasmus Dahlin (D)
    2 Andrei Svechnikov (RW)
    3 Jesperi Kotkaniemi (C)
    4 Brady Tkachuk (LW)
    5 Barrett Hayton (C) )
    6 Filip Zadina (RW)
    7 Quinn Hughes (D)
    8 Adam Boqvist (D)
    9 Vitali Kravtsov (RW)
    10 Evan Bouchard (D)
    11 Oliver Wahlstrom (RW)
    12 Noah Dobson (D)

Well now this is certainly interesting! All 5 of those D have excelled in the NHL, most of them big time. The forwards however are quite a different story; of the 7, only 2 have gone on to have good NHL careers. Anyway, as I said earlier, if I'm the OP, I'm looking to draft one and possibly even two of the top D available in this year's draft. Certainly picking up Demidov and one of Silayev, Levshunov, Dickinson, Parekh or Buium would be a pretty nice draft.

I would need more than 2 + 5 this year to move #1. The drop off from Celebrini to whoever goes 2nd is much too large. The gap from 2 to about 15 is probably smaller than the gap from 1 to 2 this year.

We draft after. I've been leaning towards

    Demidov
    Levshunov
Lindstrom (if chi takes him only)
    Buium
    Parekh
    Eiserman
    Yakemchuk

Not crazy about the offense from silayev. Dickinson seems like he'll be a better real life player than fantasy

I like your rankings. It will be interesting to see where Lindstrom goes due to his injury history. Those backs..... And it sounds like Eiserman is going to be somewhere in the teens and you'll have several other forwards drafted in front of him (Iginla, Sennecke, Catton, Helenius)

Personally…I’d keep 2 and 5. Celebrini is possibly A 100 point player but likely is more of an all around amazing player who will consistently put up a ppg. Again great fantasy asset and real life asset. I’ve heard Demidov has a similar 100 point ceiling and is the most talented player in this class. He’s a solid consolation prize and with pick 5 there are some absolute stud D-men. I keep hearing Levshunov is the guy to get but I’m also very intrigued by the upside of Parekh. Either way those two picks I think will be far more valuable than Celebrini alone on your team.
