In our keeper league our goalies are only valuable if they can consistently get about 30 wins every season.
I need to add one to my roster and wish to contend starting next season
but all that is left is:
Forsberg
Gustavsson
Kochetkov
Vejmelka
Skinner
UPL
right now i have Vejmelka as my #1 choice for next year...but is he the true starter for ARZ and will they win any games....
do you see anyone else here that can clearly get to the 30 Win mark in the 2 years?
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League
25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, SBennett
G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger
"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
so not even Vejmelka?
Ummmm no Kochetkov love? Comrie got Buffalo net when he comes back
Given your cutoff of 30 wins, that leave you with only about a dozen goalies having value every year. That dozen is also generally changing.
You want a clear starter on a good team.
Not a clear starter not good team:
Forsberg
Clear starter, bad team, but they may be better in 2 years:
Vejmelka
Not clear starter, team is good, but there's a chance they will be the clear starter next year:
Kochetkov, Luukkonen, Skinner, Gustavsson

Pick the non-Forsberg option you like the most.

I’d go Kotchketov.

UPL
Kochetkov
Veggiemilk
Gustavsson
Skinner
Forsberg
First two are a clear gap as they have nobody in their way to be the starter next year. UPL gets the nod because it's a little more of a clear cut path where Kotchetkov could have someone brought in knowing the Canes tendencies. Veggie is intriguing because AZ will start to get better eventually but he does have some competition coming from the AHL. Skinner will always have Campbells contract lingering, if he doesn't he's a great choice. Gus is good and will likely split with Fleury and is on a fairly well structured team. Forsberg is a no.

I think Flower is signed through next season, so that may mean another 50/50 split for Gus, but I suspect they plan to give Gus the 1 or 1A next year and have MAF back him up while coaching and teaching him as the keys are handed off. I have Gus/UPL/Kotch/Skinner as the best options for you in that order. All have question marks moving forward. Any one of them could get you 30 wins next year... also, all of them may not get you 20 wins next year.
10 Team H2H Points (Keep 1C, 2W, 2D, 1G, & 1 non-goalie):
G,A,+/-, PIM, PPG, SHG, GWG, OTG, FOWs, Hits, Blks, Maj, Mis, (bonus scoring for D-men makes them comparable to Wing)
Wins, Saves, GA, Shutouts
18 Man Roster (3 IR slots) Daily Start: 2C, 4W, 4D, 2G
C: Zibanejad, Thomas, Tavares
W: Stutzle, Robertson, Connor, Buchnevich, McCann
D: Makar, McAvoy, Josi, Theodore, Matheson, Harley
G: Georgiev, Binnington, Kochetkov, Andersen (IR)
UPL is my pick here
This is a keeper league:
Gus is a RFA after this year....should be signed but risky until then
UPL: signed 1 more year at 800K ....for sure they bring in someone else unless they extend him now but they will wait till next year.
Vejmelka: signed 2.75M next 2 years...so far the starter
Skinner was just signed next 3 years 2.6M/yr....Campbell untradeable so we know he will always get favoured.
Kochetkov: signed next 3 years 2M/yr....does not scream starter more 1B
goalie with most talent and upside is UPL or Vejmelka?
Just as an aside, Skinner going home for the birth of his child just may have cost him the starting gig in Edmonton....
And so it goes...
