    Default Kucherov coming back?

    he practiced after morning skate

I can replace Seguin with him on the IR, but is there any way they can fit him under the cap before the NHL playoffs??

No I would not expect them to make or leave cap room open for him before the playoffs. They want to add at the deadline and activate him for game 1. IMO not a chance he plays before the playoffs unless something really unusual happens cap-wise that allows them room to get him in for 1 or 2 regular season games as warmup.

If someone else gets hurt that provides equivalent cap relief, I could definitely see him coming back sooner for some game action. That's the only scenario I see it happening though. If you have an IR spot burning a hole in your pocket, go for it. Seems like IR spots are pretty necessary this year though, unless your league is super generous with them.

Super interested to hear other peoples' thoughts on the topic though!

If you have the slot, I'd say go for it.

However, it is very unlikely for Kucherov to play unless someone equivalent gets hurt or a combination of such. (i.e. Stamkos/Vas or a combination of Killorn+Johnson).

Given, COVID issues and the like, I would probably stay away unless you have a very healthy team so far.

Unlikely, but count me in as one who just took a flier and added him in a 1 year Yahoo league. With IR, IR+ and NA slots, should be easy enough to juggle for a while to see what happens. And if I need that spot at some point and no further signs of a potential regular season return, back to the waiver list he goes. No biggie.

Once I realized i was done...fairly early... i stashed him on the IR. Next season he'll be my pick for the 18th round at our draft. It's all I had left to play for.

If the Lightning can somehow make it work cap-wise he will get a couple warm-up games before the playoffs. A lot can happen between now and then.

The Lightning are $17,000,000 over the cap right now. I don't think there's any chance that they find the cap room to have Kucherov play a game in the regular season. It seems like he is right no pace to play in Game 1 of the playoffs though. Other teams are going to lose their mind and cry foul to the NHL but I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done.
