Goalie strategy

Hey guys,

1st league in sig.

This is initiated because Saros is dropped in my league......and I'm wondering if it's worth carrying 4 goalies (Which I never do).

I don't honestly believe that both Jarry and Saros are going to be this bad all year and I have my doubts that Lankinen is going to keep it up.....however I think it's too early to make that call.

With Toews coming off IR my plan was to drop Verhaegie for him and run with 5 D.

HOWEVER....now that Saros is dropped, I'm wondering if I shouldn't drop Martinez (his peripherals can be replaced if it doesn't work out later) and run with 4 goalies for a while as things become more clear.

Trying to strategize a lineup is near impossible this year so maybe this is the year that 4 potential starters would be worth it to figure out what the reality is for those 3.

I'd be very fine dropping Martinez.

With your categories split 7 to 4 in favour of skaters I don't think I'd try for 4 goalies. Especially if 3 of them are mediocre.

Rack up the points with more skaters and hope to luck into a few goalie category wins

Wasn't as much about who to drop (I'm ok dropping both Verhaegie and Martinez) as it was a question about holding 4 goalies.

I know it's 7 to 4 for skaters......however there are so many more skaters than goalies do they make them that more important?
