Rantanen+ for Pastrnak
Would like more goal scoring. Given my roster what would you add to try and get Pastrnak? The other manager is short a defenseman so possiblity one of mine? Was going to offer Rantanen plus Ristolainen. Thanks for the thoughts

I think Rantanen is enough to get a conversation started for pastrnak. As a Pastrnak owner I would listen for sure. But it would take more than Ristolainen for me to make the deal. You are dealing for winger who was tops in goals last year and top five in PPP and SOG. I can't imagine that Risto would much improve his team.

A healthy Rantanen for a hurt Pasta might be enough for the GM to pull the trigger....might.
I'd offer Rantanen for Pasta to start the convo, then ask what D out of Risto and Subban would he like.
But this is all for a player who isn't going to play until maybe game 35 of the season. Remember that.

What about a different dman? Fox? I think Hughes might be too much.

I think fox would do it, Hughes is too much. But 2014OlympicGold does make some good points. If you are aiming to win this season and this isnt a move being made primarily long term, then I would go with his suggestion. I think fox and rantanen is fair value for what pasta offers when healthy, but I also understand what 2014OlympicGold is saying in that he ain't going to be helping you for half the season.
