Does anyone know how serious this is? How long are we talking...weeks or months?

Matt Carle is out indefinitely with a rib injury.
While it was initially thought to be a back injury, Carle is actually suffering from torn intercostal muscles, which wraps between the ribs and is responsible for contracting the lungs. He is feeling it towards his back and the condition is not improving. He said the pain hasn\'t improved since the injury, which was four games ago. Consider him out indefinitely and look for defensive help elsewhere.

Certainly provides the Flyers cap space that they desperately needed for Randy Jones to return. Jones should be back within a week (possibly tonight?) and to have Jones AND Carle in the lineup together, a trade was definitely needed. Now Philly can take their time and drag their feet a little longer before making a move.

Carle has an injury to his intercostal muscles and it is painful right now for him to shoot and pass - look for him to be out for a while longer I think - apparently he says it really hasn\'t improved much this week.

Yes, edit your post and delete the link as posted and insert it in the URL function.

According to the Philadelphia media, Carle is going to give it a shot today vs the Pens. We\'ll see how he does.

That sucks - I only benched him in my weekly league - I had a feeling with his ice time that it was only a matter of time before he starting chalking up some points. Nice to see Timo with some points finally.
