new York seems to have a lot of offensively minded defenseman that could run a pp but are really not great at other roles. im thinking trouba could get the doughty treatment and play harder roles because he's good at more parts than just offense.

I've thought about this too but I'm conflicted. Considering how much scratch the Rangers are paying Trouba...you wonder if they give him tons of minutes and a legit opportunity to produce.
But...to your points...the Rags have DeAngelo and Fox, plus Z.Jones and K.Miller in the system...all can produce offense.
I think there's a chance that Fox could end up running the PP by January if he makes the team.

Teams are rostering a lot of D with offensive abilities these days. In this case both New York and Philly have multiple viable alternatives.
