Ty Smith
Hey all! I just acquired Ty Smith and he looks like a high end prospect. I am just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on him (how many years before he makes the league, ceiling for points, etc.).

I like Smith a lot. He's probably another couple years out, but thats up to him.
When he gets there, he will be competing with guys like PK for PP time so I dont expect much out of the gate from him, but I believe patience is the key (as it is with any young asset) when it comes to his production. He'll get there, just dont expect it early in his career.

A reasonable path is for Smith to come up in 2 years, spend that year acclimating and maybe PP2 duty, and then in 2022, after Subban leaves, take a part or all of the PP1 time. Presuming no free agent comes in to disrupt things.
