Default Keeper D going forward - hard decisions - rep given

My team is a little stacked this year and I should make a good playoff run. I'm only allowed to keep 7 and with my 1st and 2nd being gone this year I need to get it right. My biggest concern is on D. I've got Subban, Letang and Jones. All of which are very strong. I'm honestly tempted to take Jones. Am I crazy to do that? Who would you take for the D (or for the rest of my team?)

    Rep given!
14 team head to head, 7 keepers
    G, A, PPP, HITS, PIM, +/-, GWG, W, L, SO, SV%
    2C, 2RW, 2LW, 4D, 2 Utility, 2G, 4 bench, 1IR+
F - Matthews, Marner, McDavid, Debrincat, Thomas, Jeannot, Vilardi, Zegras, Guentzel, Zibanejad
D - Dahlin, Bouchard, Lauzon, Durzi,. Chychrun
    G - Samsonov, Gustavsson, Askarov

16 team head to head, 15 keepers
G, A, PPP, SOG, Hit, Block, W, GAA, SV, SV%
    2C, 2LW, 2RW, 1F, 4D, 1 Utility, 2G
F - McDavid, Tavares, Kucherov, Meier, Duchene, Foerster P. Kane, Pastrnak, R. Smith, Forsberg, Poitras, W. Johnston

D - Josi, Reilly, Faber, Matheson, Nemec,
G - Vasilevskiy, Merzlikins, Vladar, Cossa

Letang has the edge while healthy, but Jones is much closer than one might think to being awesome. If it boils down to who gets injured less, Jones is a better pick. Letang has only 1 season in which he's played all games, based on a superficial scan.
Fantrax 3 Year Keeper League (11 keepers; 3 yr contract); 14 teams, 20 player roster (15 weekly starters; 5 man bench)

    Dress 3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 6 D (Set once weekly, prior to Monday's games)

***Contract year indicates starting year of final contract year (ie: 2019 = 2019-2020 season)

    Heading into the draft Roster:
    C - Pettersson (2020), Larkin (2019), Barzal (2019)
    LW - Meier (2020), Hall (2020)
    RW - Mantha (2020), Svechnikov (2020), Wheeler (2019; acquired pre-draft)
    D - Hronek (2020), C Makar (2020), Klingberg (2019l acquired pre-draft)

I think you have to take Jones, although arguments can be made for Letang. Keep in mind that Letang suffered a stroke. Apart from being seemingly more susceptible to "hockey" injuries with ligaments and muscles, there's at least that evidence of having added potential for internal bodily function problems. If you're right there battling for the title and expect to be for the next 2-3 years, maybe I'd keep Letang, because he'll probably be more valuable than Jones. But thinking long-term, Jones is the safer bet.

What about subban? I'm thinking my keepers are price, bob, Matthew's, marner, ovi, malkin and then one of the D

I'd put Letang and Jones ahead of Subban. He has more competition with upper end d men on his team and his minutes are down this season (over 2 per game). He has bigger name value than fantasy value.

Either of Letang or Jones are solid choices. I lean Letang if you're a contending team next season and Jones if you're not.
    Set roster weekly in H2H (Mon to Sun) - 16 Teams - start 6F, 3D, and 1G per week - Keep 2

    Points: 2 G / 2 A / 1 PPG / 1 PPA / 1 Hat Trick / 1 SHG / 1 SHA / 1 GWG - 3 Goalie Win / 2 Goalie Loss in SO or OT / 5 goalie SO

    Forwards:
    C. McDavid, N. Kucherov, R. O'Reilly, J. Schwartz, J. Toews, J. Huberdeau, T. Toffoli, M. Granlund

    Defense:
    B. Burns, J. Klingberg, R. Josi, J. Slavin

    Goalie:
    J. Binnington

    IR (2 max):

Is subban worth trying to deal to get a first and then get the waiver wire to cover?

If you're trying to win? No. You need Subban more than waiver wire covers. You keep your studs in-season. Figure out your keepers after the season.

Give yourself as many hard keeper decision to make as possible IN THE SUMMER. Load up, go for it. worry about the details after.

I think you see which one returns a great pick after the season, and keep one that has less interest.

Worry about your keepers in the off-season -though in a keep 7 I'd hesitate to keep two goalies, maybe you can trade one in the off-season?

My keepers would probably be Malkin, Matthews, Ovie, Marner, Letang, Jones, Price.
No I wouldn't deal Subban now. Do you have trading in the offseason?
