    Default Benn vs Wheeler

    Benn (LW,C)
    Wheeler (RW,C)
Who would you rather have for this season and next?

I would go with Benn. Wheeler is pretty old, but still performing at a high level. While Wheeler might perform above Benn this season, I think that could drop off suddenly either at the end of this season or next season. He might not. But Benn is substantially younger in comparison, so I trust that he will perform at this high level without drop off for longer. In that sense I think Benn is safer.

It depends on your scoring - for a full roto setting (G/A/PPP/SOG/PIM/BLK/HIT/FOW) I'd go with Benn with a slight edge. Points only, maybe Wheeler with a slight edge.

Also, in Yahoo both have dual eligibility (C/LW for Benn and C/RW for Wheeler). In the drafts I've participating in both are going in the 5 - 15 range with Benn going before Wheeler. In a few standard Yahoo leagues I've been able to get both for nice one/two punch.

I think Wheeler is going to outpoint Benn by 10+, so any multicat edge that Benn has is swallowed up by that gap. Give me Wheeler.

    Benn 29 Years Old
    Wheeler 32 years Old

substantially younger i am not sure..32 is still in prime years, especially if OP says for this year or next, i don<t think age should be a factor in this.

It’s close, but I would go with Wheeler. FantasyHockeyGeek also has Wheeler in top 10 in most of my leagues and Benn in top 15 (standard cats including Hits, Blks, SOG, PIM)

I think both Benn and Wheeler will be in the 75-80 point range. Wheeler had a career year last year and I don't see him repeating. Benn had a down year two season ago but other than that he has produced almost at PPG pace last 5 seasons.

If you count stats that either player exceeds in then that would be the deal breaker for me. Also, Benn is younger so the age difference will matter in 3 years.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

I own Kopitar, Wheeler, and Benn, so interesting that all 3 have been compared in the threads recently

My 2 younger guys are Boeser (rookie) and Barkov.
