[serious question] @lucafen4 - Sell me on why you would want "takeaways" as a CAT.
Some cats are too classic to avoid. Others on their own lead to avoidable ties and are decided entirely by chance. Most leagues have 15 categories... The one I am tinkering with has 19 and has combined some traditional cats together to avoid chance and unnecessary ties. Short handed points, shut outs do not stand alone. While I've kept PIM & +/- (sorry SuperMario).
I'll add in brackets what cats include or mean if they aren't standard
Without further ado:
SKATERS: 13
GOALS
ASSISTS
EVEN STRENGTH POINTS (ESP)
SPECIAL TEAMS POINTS + GAME WINNING GOALS (includes short handed points) (STPGWG)
SHOTS ON GOAL
PENALTY MINUTES
PLUS-MINUS
HITS
BLOCK
TAKEAWAYS
TIME ON ICE - SHORT HANDED
ZONE STARTS - DEFENSIVE (ZSD)
FACE OFF %
GOALIES: 6
WINS + SHUTOUTS (a shut out is worth 2pts) (GPt10)
LOSSES + OT LOSSES + SO LOSSES
SAVES
GOALS AGAINST AVERAGE
SAVE PERCENTAGE
EVEN STRENGTH SAVE PERCENTAGE (SV%ES)
A few wrinkle and an emphasis on defensively sound players should put most of us on an even playing field...
SV%ES & ZSD are two cats I'm most unsure of being the correct fit. Short handed saves was one that intrigued me... as did removing zone starts and FO% and putting in FOW + FOL..
THOUGHTS?

- I said... "God damn this tablet is heavy!"
Not sure how strong of an argument I have... I have opened my cats up for debate...
But what I like is that - they are predominately excluded from fantasy pool, which makes them automatically more interesting to include. The way the game has been trending with a faster pace and quicker transition game, takeaways are becoming a visible skill. I wanted to create a pool that balanced offense and defence much closer to real life. Takeaways help to do this.
The NHL defines it as: a takeaway occurs when pressure from the defending team results in a defending player gaining possession of the puck. Mark Stone, Brad Marchand are elite at doing this, Marner is trending in that direction- it's a skill Stone probably does as good or better than anyone else in the NHL.
Surprisingly it is a CAT dominated by offensive players -https://www.sportingcharts.com/nhl/stats/player-takeaway-statistics/2016/ -- but as the chart shows, all of a sudden Slavin is a viable roster option even though he has meh offensive production and avg peripherals.

is there a way to find out who your top 15 point getters would be with these CATS?
