I would go #2 Burns/Pavelski/Holtby/Ristolainen/Seguin
If a second starting goalie doesn't fall to you in the draft you can probably draft Grubauer in the last round and you should still be competitive in the goalie categories.
Howdy All!
I am sure I am not alone in saying that I am VERY excited for hockey to be starting soon. With that comes the anxiety of deciding on keepers...
I have some tough decisions to make (don't we all?). My roster from last season is in my signature below, along with our cats. I get to keep 5. I had a real difficult time last year, but this year is even tougher. I have 2 outstanding goalies, 2 outstanding multi cat D-men, and a bunch of forward options. Here is what I am thinking...
I think these 3 are pretty obvious:
Burns
Pavelski
Holtby
Then it gets tricky... Am I crazy for wanting to keep 2 D-men or 2 goalies??
Seguin - Seems like a safe bet?
Ristolainen - I reeeeeeally like Risto for 50+ points with Eichel being back all year, plus being a multi cat stud (PPP, Hits, Blocks)
Bobrovsky - Can he repeat last years performance??
So here are my preferences in order:
#1 Burns/Pavelski/Holtby/Ristolainen/Bobrovsky
#2 Burns/Pavelski/Holtby/Ristolainen/Seguin
#3 Burns/Pavelski/Holtby/Seguin/Bobrovsky.
What do you think??

As much as I hate to see you throw a goalie of Bob's quality back in the draft, I think you have to in this situation. Keep Risto and Seguin
Without me, it's only "aweso".
I imagine Seguin and Bob would be a lot harder to redraft than Risto.
I'll vote for option #3

G: Hellebuyck, Shesterkin
Risto might be great in your set-up, but Bob will be more of a difference maker than him, even in a league with only 4/14 goalie categories. You can find a closer replacement for Risto via the draft than you can for Bob. Go with Option #3.

I am starting to lean towards option 3 even though I have a bad feeling about not getting Risto back...

I like option 1 but replace pavelski with seguin. San Jose's ageing core is on the decline including pavelski... I would not want 2 of my 5 keepers off that team. But if your hell bent on keeping pavelski out of those options I'd pick option 3.
