Gibson right now just due to consistency and the mental game - Vasilevskiy might struggle at times with the #1 workload a la Hellebuyck.
Vasilevskiy in the future.
Best team: Now and then
- Anaheim Ducks
- Tampa Bay Lightning
Which would be the better goalie now and years down the road :
- John Gibson
- Andrei Vasilevskiy
Gibson right now just due to consistency and the mental game - Vasilevskiy might struggle at times with the #1 workload a la Hellebuyck.
Vasilevskiy in the future.
Vasilevskiy now and in the future. Gibson is sharing the crease with Ryan Miller and, according to goalie experts such as Kevin Woodley, plays a style that will ensure a continuing cycle of injuries.
Vasilevskiy has already had stints where's he the man. When thrown into the fire of playoff hockey his numbers got better, not worse. He's got the temperament to handle the job.
Believe when say that a search will net you plenty of threads asking this exact question. Just type Gibson or Vasilevskiy up in the search bar and start scrolling.
I've pretty much stuck with Vasilevskiy all the way through and nothing has changed for me. It's still Vasilevskiy in front of Gibson.

Getzlaf/Perry/Kesler are not the youngest players out there and as they decline Anaheim should to, Vasi/Hedman/Stamkos/Kucherov are all still young and for the most part just entering their primes I take Vasi>Gibson all day

I'll give the edge to Vas now and long term.
Gibsons injuries worry me and I think the team will declining.
Anaheim and Gibson are probably the better players right now but I think Vas and Gibby are pretty even going into next year but 2-3 years time Tampa should be a step ahead of Anaheim. I expect big big things from Vas in the future. Really like his upside. got vasilevsky down for 40 wins next season
I'm going to bump this thread as I own both in my point only keeper league, and am interested on some more people's thoughts.
