Bridge Deal
Long Term Deal
another option
Will last years breakout star get locked up long term or will the Bruins want to see more before they commit big money
I could see 2 scenarios;
1. Two year bridge similar to RyJo and Kucherov, between $4-$5 million/year
2. A six or seven year deal in the range of $6 -$7 million. Similar to MacKinnon, Monahan, Schiefele
What do y'all think?

By rights, it should be a long-term extension.
But as mentioned, Sweeney ain't conventional in his thought processes.
So watch out for a holdout.

I'll be quite surprised if it isn't a long term deal.

I believe it would be a massive error by the Bruins to not get him locked in for 6+ years, ASAP.
I think long term is the way to go and is what he'll be asking for.
I think since they have some cap space at the moment combined with freeing up some with Stafford and Liles ending their current contracts as well as having Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci, Backes, Krug, McAvoy and Rask locked up for the next few seasons at minimum, they should be in a good position to give him a long term deal IMO.
Something in the 6x6 range would be my call.
Keeper league 14 teams (H2H, 20 active players keep 16 NHLers, 16 minors)
Scoring Cats: G-A-PTS-PPG-PPA-(+/-)-HITS-BLK-SHP-SOG-FOW-GWG / W-L-SVS-SV%-GAA-SO
C- Crosby, Barzal, Bennett, Schmaltz, Cooley, Novak
W- Forsberg, Batherson, Nichuskin, Tuch, Konecny, Maccelli, Sharangovich, Bertuzzi, Kaliyev, Neighbours, Reichel

With the Bruins cap situation (LOL giving Backes $6M/per), and all the other contracts. I see them doing all they can keeping his cap hit low and going a short/long-term bridge deal like Kucherov $4M-$5M for 3-5 years

I can't list my 2nd main keeper as there are too many players, but it is a keep all H2H points-only league
I think they would be mistaken not to give him a long term deal, but I could see them thinking along the lines of "it was only one season, we don't want to be overpaying him for 7 years".
So 7yrs @ 6M
or
2yrs @ 4M and a whole bunch of regret after

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Long term! They won't risk having that talent leave.

FSC is always looking for dedicated dynasty league managers. We run 8 standard dynasty leagues (18/23 kept) - see available here https://fantasysportscoalition.wordpress.com/ and 1 contract dynasty ( players earn salaries on contracts ranging from 1-4 years) https://fantasysportscoalition.wordp...ague-waitlist/
I don't know how much there is to bridge here.. He doesn't need a "show me" deal.. but a "show me this every year in Boston, please" deal. Sure, there is argument to say, "show me again" but if you lose that gamble, he will only be more expensive. If anything, that argument helps you keep the long term annual cap number down and I do say down, not low. Like 6M per...
Blades of Steel
9 Team Full Keeper - Pts Only (G,A,W,SO)
Crosby, Wheeler, Bergeron, Forsberg, Connor, Kopitar, E.Lindholm, Pastrnak, DeBrincat, Fiala
Jones, Klingberg, Hamilton, Theodore, Letang
Saros, Shesterkin
Garland, Vrana, Bjorkstrand, Verhaege, Backstrom, Karlsson, Perunovich, Spurgeon, Pulock, Hellebuyck
6 million + with decent term is my estimate, and when you consider other young forwards at that rate it will probably be a bit of a steal. Bridge deal is looking for trouble IMO
