Scheiffle hands down
Scheifele
OEL
So I have the possibility to get either:
Scheifele instead of Stempniak (or Jenner)
or
OEL instead of Ekholm
Which represents the biggest upgrade? My gut says Scheif, but good defense is harder to find....

scheifele hands down
Not sure I'd say hands down... Scheifele at 80 points is more valuable than OEL at 50 (75 in this set up) in a vacuum but if I can get a 65 point forward easier than a 30-35 point d man I'd be tempted to go with OEL due to replacment level costs...

Experience is the teacher of all things.
Scheifele for me too, but it is closer than you think.

So who do I drop for Scheifele, considering I'm in a salary cap league #1 below
Option 1: Stempniak... he's 33, but only 2.5m and gets 45ish points
Option 2: Jenner... Better surrounded, could bounce back next year and get close to 50 ish for 2.9m
Option 3: Vesey... He may have value in certain leagues, but at 3.775m(same as McDavid and Matthews), he needs to put up at least 55-60 points next year to be worth keeping...
Option 4: Lindholm.. also could bounce back with a talented young crew surrounding him

Considering the cap hit, I'd drop Vesey.

^^ Thanks for confirming my thoughts
I might also let Stempniak go before next season as there are always multiple open options to replace him as well

I am going to say OEL. OEL is having an underwhelming season, but with the added D bonus and scarcity of top D men in the league I give the edge to OEL.
I think OEL likely puts up as many or more fantasy points for you next season.

^^^ Good point. There would probably have a bigger chance of Scheifele being available at next year's draft than OEL, but thing is I'm not 100% certain....
And OEL will still be on a struggling team next year with DeAngelo right there to grab some of that top PP time...
I get a feeling that this decision could make me win or lose next year :/

Arizona might get good in 3-4 years from now but at the moment its a fantasy death pit.
Scheifele and it IS hands down IMO. But obviously if you're hurting for D depth it changes things.
