Happy for Raines in particular.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
1st time around lost out on the HOF by like 30+votes, this time around….5 votes. It does makes sense tho that he has to wait a bit to get in, the guy was a 1inning specialist. But I do think the 2nd best EVER at the role should get in.

The fact that both Buff Bagwell and Pudge were tied to steriods and got in certainly opens some eyes, and possibly some doors for others. I am surprised that Rodrigues in on the first ballot.

Good article with the possible softening stance on steroids here.

Bonds deserves to be there. Even if you look at his career as pre and post steroids - as I really feel his time in Pitts he was clean. He still had 3 MVP's and was dominated LF.
Now if character played into the decision making process, this guy would just be f---ed.
I'm not entirely surprised with Pudge, his defence was ELITE. He made Santiago's throws to 2nd base from his knees look amateurish. One of the best defensive catchers of all time.
Bagwell... a little bit surprised. with the steroid links and a similar career to Fred McGriff... I'm not sold. Too bad Crime Dog didn't bash 7 more HR's to hit 500... he'd have a shot.
Eight-ball Raines finally got in. Does he have an autobiography? That's something I'd love to read. Have to say... I'm happy he's in... but why isn't illegal drugs more frowned upon in the baseball world?

Clemons too. Seven Cy's from 1986 to 2004 (something like that) with four different teams.
Lovvvvvvvvvve that MLB releases this stuff. I find it fascinating and a huge improvement over the ancient, closed door ways of the NHL.
Sad I was away for this as I'm a big Jonah Keri fan and he is a known backer of getting Raines into the HOF. Glad it paid off as Keri is an awesome journalist.
